  • Liebherr goes for a swim

Want to see what poor management and lack of knowledge and experience does? we was sent this video from a reader working in Africa of this crew trying to unload what looks like a 70 ton Liebherr from a barge and as you can see it doest go completely to plan. From what we can see due to lack of information the barge wasn't moored correctly and as the crane was leaving the deck it has clearly pushed the barge backwards, possibly the crew was ready for it and didn't have the engines of the barge running.

  • New Tadano/Demag product

First photos of the brand new Tadano/Demag GTC1800 EX for German crane hire Kran Saller GMBH and on its way to its first project in Rostock. The GTC1800-EX comes equipped with a 60m boom and a maximum of 23m boom extension and a hydraulic fly jib giving a maximum sheave height of 85m. Ballast is maximum 45ton superstructure ballast and 15ton of belly ballast, the crane is definitely a good rival of the LTR range and also fills the gap that’s left between the 100 ton and 220 class of telescopic crawler cranes.

  • New 40ton Liebherr

Liebherr have just released news about their new product, the Liebherr LTR1040. This new crane is in response to customers wanting a smaller crane for the telescopic crawler crane market. The main difference to the LTR 1060 is the significantly reduced ballast – the LTR 1040 weighs in at a total of 20 tonnes less. 10 tonnes of central ballast have been taken off the chassis whilst a further 10 tonnes of counterweights have been removed from the slewing platform. But Liebherr have said that the LTR1040 can be upgraded back to a LTR1060 at anytime. Liebherr definitely does listen to what customers want and they do come up with the goods aswell, we are guessing that the new 1040 is just a downgraded 1060 but with new software and less ballast so maybe Liebherr could in the future offer customers who already own a 1060 the option for the lighter ballast and new software? Also Liebherr have added a new access ladder to the cab which in our opinion really doesn’t look the greatest of access. #cranes #craneoperator #liebherrcranes #citylife #construction #innovation #contentmarketing #cranehire #germany
