New 40ton Liebherr

Liebherr have just released news about their new product, the Liebherr LTR1040.

This new crane is in response to customers wanting a smaller crane for the telescopic crawler crane market.

The main difference to the LTR 1060 is the significantly reduced ballast – the LTR 1040 weighs in at a total of 20 tonnes less. 10 tonnes of central ballast have been taken off the chassis whilst a further 10 tonnes of counterweights have been removed from the slewing platform.

But Liebherr have said that the LTR1040 can be upgraded back to a LTR1060 at anytime. Liebherr definitely does listen to what customers want and they do come up with the goods aswell, we are guessing that the new 1040 is just a downgraded 1060 but with new software and less ballast so maybe Liebherr could in the future offer customers who already own a 1060 the option for the lighter ballast and new software? Also Liebherr have added a new access ladder to the cab which in our opinion really doesn’t look the greatest of access. #cranes#craneoperator#liebherrcranes#citylife#construction#innovation#contentmarketing#cranehire#germany
