Crane Hub Origin Story
Crane Hub was born during a moment of pause the industry had never experienced before.
In early October 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Crane Hub’s founder found himself temporarily off-hired from a project in Spain and back at home. Like many in the industry, evenings were spent browsing traditional crane publications and watching specialist YouTube content most notably aviation-focused channels such as Plane Hub TV. It was during one of those evenings, on 5 October 2020, that a simple idea emerged:
Why doesn’t the crane industry have a modern, digital-first platform that celebrates the work, the equipment, and the people without the limitations of traditional print?
Crane Hub launched that same night on Instagram, originally as a place to share striking crane photography, industry moments, and light-hearted crane-related content. The response was immediate. The combination of strong visual storytelling, a distinctive logo, and content that felt authentic to the industry resonated quickly.
As the audience grew, Crane Hub expanded onto LinkedIn, where growth accelerated even faster. Major industry brands began to take notice, recognizing the platform’s ability to deliver visibility, engagement, and content that spoke directly to professionals on site and in leadership roles.
What became clear was that the crane industry wasn’t lacking stories, it was lacking modern storytelling.
Inspired by the work of forward-thinking industry publishers and creators, Crane Hub recognized that traditional, print-led models had failed to evolve. The era of the physical-only magazine was ending, and a new digital-first approach to crane industry media was emerging.
By 2025, Crane Hub had become a recognized name across the global crane, lifting, and specialized transport industry, supported by a highly engaged international audience. Yet growth alone was not the goal. The ambition was always bigger to deliver deeper news, stronger content, and a platform that truly served the crane industry.
That next evolution came through CraneLife.
Through a strategic partnership with an experienced marketing team that shared the same passion for the lifting industry, Crane Hub aligned with professionals who believed in the same mission: to modernize how the crane industry tells its stories, shares its news, and connects globally. This collaboration transformed Crane Hub from a fast-growing content platform into a global industry hub combining media, community, marketplace, and connection under one trusted name.
