Mikschl Autokrane Modernizes Mobile Crane Fleet With Liebherr LTM 1070-4.2 and LTM 1230-5.1

Mikschl Autokrane modernizes its mobile crane fleet with Liebherr LTM 1070-4.2 and LTM 1230-5.1 all-terrain cranes, replacing older units to improve lifting flexibility, uptime, and operator comfort.

30-Second Takeaway Mikschl Autokrane GmbH has upgraded its mobile crane fleet  with two new Liebherr mobile cranes : the LTM 1070-4.2  and the LTM 1230-5.1 . The investment replaces older 60-tonne and 220-tonne machines, increasing lifting performance, jobsite flexibility, and crane operator comfort . Strong Liebherr service support  and spare parts availability were key decision factors. A new LTM 1070-4.2 replaces a 60-tonne crane in Mikschl Autokrane’s fleet. Modern Fleet Upgrades for Everyday and Heavy Lifting Mikschl Autokrane GmbH, based in Aichach, Germany, has added a Liebherr LTM 1070-4.2 mobile crane  to its fleet as a direct replacement for a 60-tonne model. The compact 70-tonne all-terrain crane  delivers significantly higher lifting capacity while maintaining excellent maneuverability across a wide range of construction sites. “Our fleet always has the latest cranes on the market this enables us to avoid crane breakdowns and provide our customers with the best possible support in realising their projects,” says Roland Mikschl, Managing Director of Mikschl Autokrane GmbH. The LTM 1070-4.2  stands out for its ability to carry a high amount of ballast while traveling on public roads, allowing it to work efficiently as a taxi crane  without requiring additional transport vehicles. Advanced features such as ECOmode  and ECOdrive  reduce fuel consumption and operating noise, while active, speed-dependent rear-axle steering enhances off-road capability and tight-space maneuverability. Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 Replaces 220-Tonne Mobile Crane in Upper Capacity Class In addition to the 70-tonne crane, Mikschl Autokrane has expanded its upper lifting capacity by investing in a Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 , replacing an older 220-tonne mobile crane. The 230-tonne, 5-axle mobile crane  is equipped with VarioBase® Plus , enabling asymmetrical outrigger positioning and delivering exceptionally high lifting capacities particularly in the rear working area. All configurations are calculated in real time by the LICCON control system , ensuring maximum safety and performance. With its 75-metre telescopic boom , the LTM 1230-5.1  is ideally suited for demanding applications such as tower crane assembly, industrial installations, and wind turbine maintenance. The long boom length and strong load charts allow efficient work at steep boom angles and high hook heights, reducing setup complexity on site. Liebherr Mobile Crane Technology, Driver Comfort, and Service Drive the Decision Beyond lifting performance, Mikschl Autokrane cited driver comfort , service reliability , and spare parts availability  as decisive factors. “We opted for two new cranes from Ehingen because we were impressed by the fast and good service. Spare parts are always available and can be provided quickly,” says Mikschl. “Our drivers also say that Liebherr mobile cranes offer the best travelling comfort.” The company employs twelve people and operates across Bavaria, including Munich, Augsburg, Ingolstadt, and Donauwörth. Since arriving at the company yard, both new Liebherr mobile cranes  have been in daily use across small and large construction projects, confirming the value of the fleet upgrade. In addition to the LTM 1070-4.2, an LTM 1230-5.1 complements the fleet of the Aichach-based crane and transport service provider.
