Richi AG Closes Fleet Gap with Liebherr LTM 1110-5.2

Richi AG, based in Weiningen (canton of Zürich), has expanded its fleet with an LTM 1110-5.2 mobile crane from Liebherr. With the 110-tonne crane, the Swiss company is choosing versatility, efficiency and sustainability. State-of-the-art Liebherr mobile crane technology ensures safety, comfort and cost-effectiveness.

Reduced Ballast Transport, Lower Emissions A decisive factor in the purchase was the crane’s ability to carry 13.4 tonnes of basic ballast while maintaining a 12-tonne axle load on public roads. “In most cases, we can operate without an additional ballast transport vehicle,” Fleck explained. “That reduces logistics effort, lowers fleet operating costs, and significantly cuts CO₂ emissions.” The LTM 1110-5.2 also benefits from: Modern engine technology Optimized exhaust aftertreatment Low fuel consumption Combined with ECOmode, these features support Richi AG’s broader sustainability strategy. Technology Built for Efficiency and Safety The new crane is equipped with Liebherr’s latest mobile crane technology, including: LICCON3 control system for enhanced computing power and intuitive operation VarioBase® for variable outrigger positioning and improved lifting capacity in tight spaces ECOmode for fuel-efficient crane operation These systems improve safety and performance while reducing wear, fuel usage, and long-term operating costs. Focus on Tower Crane Assembly The LTM 1110-5.2 will be used primarily for tower crane assembly and dismantling, a key segment of Richi AG’s lifting operations. In restricted-access environments, the company continues to rely on its LTM 1120-4.1, while the new 5-axle crane handles a broader range of taxi-crane and construction tasks. Richi AG’s mobile crane fleet now spans eight units, ranging from 40 tonnes to 350 tonnes, including the LTM 1350-6.1. The fleet is further supported by: Liebherr mobile construction cranes (MK 88 and MK 100) A planned upgrade to an MK 120-5.1 in Q1 2026 Four truck-mounted loader cranes A Partnership Built Over Decades Richi AG’s decision to select Liebherr once again was driven by a long-standing partnership and close collaboration with Liebherr’s sales and service teams. “Our second supplier doesn’t offer a comparable crane in this class,” Fleck noted. “The LTM 1110-5.2 was our clear first choice, and the expert support from Liebherr only reinforced that decision.” Richi’s relationship with Liebherr dates back to April 1980, when the company took delivery of its first Liebherr truck-mounted crane a 6-axle LT 1090 with a 90-tonne capacity.
