The five-axle mobile crane features a 62-meter telescopic boom and high road mobility, with axle loads down to 9 tonnes. The five-axle crane features a 62-meter telescopic boom , two meters longer than the LTM 1110-5.2, making it the longest boom in Liebherr’s five-axle class. Its design supports high mobility, allowing the crane to carry up to 16.9 tonnes of ballast  on public roads with a 12-tonne axle load . By removing ballast, the crane can travel with an axle load of just 9 tonnes , offering significant advantages for permits, route planning, and international deployment. “The LTM 1100-5.3 is a modern, innovative crane representing the latest technical generation. As we’re thinking ahead and aiming to position ourselves for the future, it ideally complements our fleet,” says Matthias Richter, owner of the crane and heavy haulage company of the same name. The LTM 1100-5.3 features a powerful 62-meter telescopic boom, making it two meters longer than the next most powerful Liebherr five-axle crane, the LTM 1110-5.2. The crane can carry up to 16.9 tonnes of ballast on public roads with a twelve-tonne axle load. By simply removing the ballast, it can travel with an axle load of just nine tonnes – this makes it economically mobile worldwide and offers significant advantages in terms of approvals and route permits. “For us, the new LTM is an excellent taxi crane. Thanks to its long telescopic boom, low weight, and width of just 2.55 meters, we can use it flexibly.” Immediate Deployment on Infrastructure Projects Just days after delivery, the LTM 1100-5.3 was put to work assembling a tower crane in Leipzig . It then moved directly to its next assignment near Halberstadt , where it was used to replace electricity pylons for grid operator 50Hertz  on behalf of LTB Leitungsbau GmbH . The project followed preparatory work carried out by two loading cranes and a semi-trailer truck, all operated by Richter.
