Irish access rental company Boom & Platform Hire has taken delivery of the first Sinoboom AB15ERJN narrow aisle electric articulated boom lifts to enter Ireland. The order also includes several Sinoboom 1932ME and 2732E electric slab scissor lifts and increases the rental company’s Sinoboom fleet to almost 200 units.

First AB15ERJN Boom Lifts Enter Ireland
Boom & Platform Hire has expanded its electric access fleet with Ireland’s first Sinoboom AB15ERJN articulated boom lifts. The 48ft platform height electric boom is designed for narrow aisles and confined working areas. Its compact dimensions, zero tailswing and emission-free power system make it suitable for indoor industrial, commercial and construction applications.
The new machines were supplied by Lolex, Sinoboom’s authorized distributor for the United Kingdom and Ireland. Boom & Platform Hire also added several 19ft Sinoboom 1932ME and 27ft Sinoboom 2732E electric slab scissor lifts through the same order. The latest investment brings the company’s Sinoboom fleet to almost 200 units, all purchased through Lolex.
Compact Boom Provides 16.8 Metres of Working Height
The Sinoboom AB15ERJN, also identified as the AB490ERJN in some markets, provides a maximum working height of 16.8 metres and a maximum platform height of 14.8 metres.
The boom configuration combines a classic dual riser with a two section telescopic boom and articulating jib. The jib provides 100 degrees of articulation, helping operators position the platform around overhead obstructions and inside congested working areas.
The machine delivers a maximum horizontal extension of seven metres and an unrestricted platform capacity of 230 kilograms for two occupants. A 1.4 by 0.8 metre platform provides 180 degrees of rotation, while the turret rotates through 355 degrees.
Narrow Dimensions Target Confined Work Areas
The AB15ERJN has an overall stowed width of 1.5 metres and a stowed height of 1.98 metres, allowing it to pass through many industrial doorways and work inside narrow aisles.
Its overall stowed length is 6.98 metres, wheelbase is 1.75 metres and ground clearance is 13 centimetres. The machine weighs approximately 8,500 kilograms.
A turning radius of 0.9 metres inside and three metres outside supports maneuverability in restricted environments. The turret has a tailswing of just 3.5 centimetres, creating a near zero tailswing operating profile. The compact configuration is designed for applications including warehouses, manufacturing plants, data centers, pharmaceutical facilities, commercial buildings and indoor construction projects.
Electric Power Supports Indoor Operation
The AB15ERJN uses AC electric drive motors and eight six volt AGM batteries.
Electric drive allows the machine to operate without engine emissions at the point of use and reduces operating noise compared with diesel powered access equipment. Sinoboom lists a stowed travel speed of up to six kilometres per hour and a raised travel speed of up to 0.6 kilometres per hour. The machine has 25 percent gradeability and uses solid, non-marking tires.
Fully proportional controls support smooth platform positioning. Standard systems include hydraulic platform leveling, load sensing, tilt protection, fault diagnostics, emergency lowering and a secondary guarding device. The boom lift is designed to meet CE, ANSI, CSA and GB requirements, depending on the configuration and market.
Scissor Lifts Added to the Fleet
The order also includes Sinoboom’s 1932ME and 2732E electric slab scissor lifts.
The 1932ME provides a maximum platform height of 5.8 metres, or 19 feet, and a maximum working height of 7.8 metres. Its 81 centimetre overall width allows the machine to travel through standard doorways and work in restricted indoor spaces.
The model provides a 230 kilogram platform capacity, with space for two occupants indoors or one occupant outdoors. A 90 centimetre deck extension expands the available working area and has a 120 kilogram capacity.
The 1932ME weighs approximately 1,575 kilograms and offers 25 percent gradeability. Its zero degree inside turning radius supports maneuverability in narrow aisles.
The larger 2732E provides a 27ft platform height while retaining a narrow slab scissor configuration for indoor and prepared surface applications.
Both models use electric drive and non-marking tires for work in warehouses, commercial buildings, manufacturing facilities and other environments where low noise and zero local emissions are important.
Fleet Approaches 200 Sinoboom Units
Boom & Platform Hire’s latest order increases its Sinoboom fleet to almost 200 machines.
Feargal Donoghue of Boom & Platform Hire said the company’s previous Sinoboom units have delivered reliable performance and that Lolex’s technical support contributed to the decision to expand the fleet.
“We like the Sinoboom quality, all models we have on our fleet have performed very well,” Donoghue said.
“We get exceptional service and support from Lolex, and having the confidence in that back up support relationship has encouraged us to invest in more equipment, including models like the AB15ERJN which are brand new to the Irish market.”
Donoghue added that the rental fleet continues to expand annually, with equipment reliability and supplier support remaining important purchasing considerations.
Sinoboom Builds Presence in Ireland
Sinoboom equipment has operated in the Irish market for more than five years.
Lolex initially secured Sinoboom distribution rights for Ireland in 2021 before expanding its appointment to cover both the United Kingdom and Ireland in 2024.
Julie Houston Smyth of Lolex said operating experience in Ireland has demonstrated the equipment’s reliability and durability.
“The Sinoboom product has been working in the Irish market for more than five years, and time has proved how reliable and robust the equipment is,”
Houston Smyth said.
“We also work hard to provide the strongest technical service and support for the products.”
Lolex supports the Sinoboom range with equipment sales, parts, warranty service, technical assistance, maintenance contracts, statutory inspections and training.
