30-Second Takeaway

Bragg Companies has expanded its fleet with five new Liebherr all-terrain cranes including the LTM 1650-8.1 and LTM 1300-6.4 following a handover at CONEXPO 2026. This latest investment strengthens Bragg’s already substantial Liebherr fleet of 50 cranes and reinforces its position as a leading U.S. crane service provider. Equipped with advanced technologies such as VarioBallast®, VarioBase®, and the LICCON3 control system, the new units enhance lifting performance, operational flexibility, and fuel efficiency, enabling Bragg to better meet the evolving demands of complex lifting projects across multiple industries.

Bragg Expands Fleet with Liebherr at CONEXPO 2026

Bragg Companies has officially taken delivery of five new Liebherr all-terrain cranes during CONEXPO 2026, North America’s largest construction trade show. The handover marks a significant fleet expansion for the U.S.-based crane, rigging, and heavy haul specialist.

The delivered units include the LTM 1650-8.1, LTM 1300-6.4, LTM 1230-5.1, LTM 1160-5.2, and LTM 1100-5.3, each offering advanced lifting capabilities and operational flexibility across a wide range of applications.

With this addition, Bragg Companies further strengthens its position as one of the largest integrated crane service providers in the construction industry.

“The specifications of the cranes meet the demanding requirements of our markets,” said Scott Bragg, CEO of Bragg Companies. “We look forward to continuing Bragg’s long-lasting relationship with Liebherr.”

Strengthening an Already Extensive Liebherr Fleet

Bragg Companies already operates a fleet of approximately 50 Liebherr cranes, and this latest investment reinforces its long-standing partnership with the manufacturer.

Headquartered in Long Beach, California, Bragg operates across multiple states including Arizona, California, Florida, Idaho, Nevada, Texas, Utah, and Washington. The company has remained family-owned for four generations, with a strong emphasis on safety, innovation, and customer-focused solutions.

The addition of these Liebherr mobile cranes enhances Bragg’s ability to handle complex lifting projects across construction, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.

Advanced Technology Driving Performance

The newly delivered Liebherr all-terrain cranes incorporate a range of advanced technologies designed to improve efficiency, flexibility, and lifting performance.

Key innovations include:

  • VarioBallast®: Enables variable ballast radius adjustment via hydraulic slewing, optimizing performance in tight or open job sites

  • VarioBase®: Allows asymmetrical outrigger positioning with real-time load calculations

  • LICCON3 control system: Provides enhanced crane control, monitoring, and operational precision

  • ECOmode and ECODrive: Improve fuel efficiency by up to 10%

These features ensure operators can configure the right crane setup quickly, maximizing productivity across diverse jobsite conditions.

Highlight: LTM 1650-8.1 A New Benchmark in Lifting

The LTM 1650-8.1 stands out as the flagship unit in the delivery. As the successor to the widely recognized LTM 1500-8.1, it delivers significant performance improvements.

  • Lifting capacity: 770 USt (700 tonnes)

  • Capacity increase: 15–50% higher than its predecessor

  • Configuration: 8-axle mobile crane designed for heavy-duty lifting

This model is engineered for high-capacity hoisting applications, making it ideal for large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects.

  • 6-axle crane with a 295 ft (90 m) telescopic boom

  • Ideal for tower crane assembly, antenna installation, and wind turbine maintenance

  • Equipped with LICCON3 system

LTM 1230-5.1

  • Features VarioBase® asymmetrical support system

  • Delivers high lifting capacities, especially in rear working zones

LTM 1160-5.2

  • Single-engine concept improves efficiency

  • Includes ECOmode and ECODrive for reduced fuel consumption

  • Highly flexible with multiple boom configurations

LTM 1100-5.3

  • Known as “The master of all roads”

  • Combines mobility, performance, and economy

  • Can carry 16.9 tonnes of ballast on public roads

  • Features LICCON3 control system

Meeting Market Demands with Modern Equipment

The investment reflects Bragg Companies’ strategy to continuously modernize its fleet with high-performance, versatile equipment capable of meeting evolving project demands.

With increasing complexity in lifting operations across sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure, and heavy industrial construction, the integration of advanced Liebherr all-terrain cranes positions Bragg to deliver enhanced service reliability and efficiency.
