DM Cranes Expands UK Mobile Tower Crane Fleet with Additional Spierings SK1265-AT6

Updated: Jan 20

30 Second Takeaway

DM Cranes continues its strategic UK expansion with the delivery of a second Spierings SK1265-AT6 eLift, growing its mobile tower crane fleet to ten units. The investment supports electric crane operation, reduced on-site emissions, and strengthened regional coverage across the UK, alongside senior leadership growth in the South.

Fleet Growth Driven by Demand for Mobile Tower Cranes

UK-based crane hire company DM Cranes has added another Spierings SK1265-AT6 mobile tower crane to its rapidly expanding fleet, reflecting increasing demand for high-capacity mobile tower cranes across the UK construction sector.

Speaking to Crane Hub News, Director Lorenzo Romagnuolo confirmed that the business has continued to invest since its last fleet update.

“We have continued to grow our fleet since we last spoke and now run a fleet of 10 mobile tower cranes, which includes five SK1265-AT6 six-axle cranes, alongside a recently added Liebherr MK140. Further investment is planned for later this year.”

Second Spierings SK1265-AT6 eLift Enhances Sustainability

The newly delivered crane marks the second SK1265-AT6 eLift within the DM Cranes fleet, reinforcing the company’s focus on electric crane operation and reduced environmental impact on site.

“This crane is the second SK1265-AT6 eLift in our fleet. The crane can operate on a 16amp power connection, allowing it to work on site without the need for the diesel engine to run.”

The Spierings eLift system enables zero-emission lifting during operations, supporting contractors working in urban environments, low-emission zones, and sustainability-driven projects.

Nationwide Coverage Strengthened Across the UK

As part of its growth strategy, DM Cranes has expanded its regional crane deployment to ensure reliable coverage across the country.

“We have also based cranes in the South of England and the Midlands, enabling us to offer nationwide crane hire coverage to both existing and new customers.”

This geographic positioning allows faster mobilisation, reduced transport times, and improved service efficiency for mobile tower crane hire projects throughout the UK.

Senior Leadership Appointment Supports Southern Expansion

Alongside fleet growth, DM Cranes has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Anton Sanderson as Area Manager for the South of the UK.

“Anton Sanderson has joined us as Area Manager for the South, which coincides with our future growth plans. Anton brings over 30 years of industry experience, having worked with some of the largest crane companies in the UK.”

The appointment supports DM Cranes’ continued expansion and customer engagement strategy in southern regions.
