Footwear Takes Safety to the Next Level with Mammoet and Bata Industrials’ New Sling Safety Shoe

30 Second Takeaway

Five years after launching their joint safety footwear range, Mammoet and Bata Industrials have introduced a new model, the Sling, designed to meet the demands of professionals working in challenging environments. Developed and tested under real working conditions, the Sling combines high-level protection, enhanced comfort, and distinctive design, reflecting both companies’ shared focus on safety, innovation, and performance.

Expanding a Proven Partnership

Mammoet and Bata Industrials have expanded their collaboration with the introduction of a new safety shoe, the Sling, building on the success of their joint footwear collection first launched five years ago.

The new model reflects the shared mission of both companies to provide high-quality safety footwear capable of meeting the toughest requirements in the field. Mammoet, a global specialist in heavy transport and hoisting, and Bata Industrials, a leader in innovative and sustainable safety footwear, continue to combine their expertise to support professionals worldwide.

Developed and Tested in the Field

Designed by Professionals, for Professionals

As with previous models in the collaboration, the Sling has been extensively tested by Mammoet professionals under real working conditions. Feedback from the field played a central role in shaping the final design.

Paul Gregoire, Merchandise Director at Mammoet, said the new model represents a clear evolution.

“The Sling builds on everything we've learned over the past five years. We continuously listen to feedback from our people in the field. The result is a shoe that is lighter, more comfortable and more stylish than ever.”

Every sole, seam, and closure was evaluated for durability, performance, and safety to ensure the shoe meets the demands of long working days.

Comfort, Stability, and Performance

Advanced Sole and Ergonomic Design

The Sling is built on the proven Bata Enduro PU outsole with Walkline® 3.0 technology, supporting natural foot movement and long-term comfort. The segmented sole design enhances stability, while the improved Tunnel System® provides additional shock absorption, energy return, and grip.

The upper is constructed from wear-resistant microfiber and features the BOA® Fit System, allowing fast, precise adjustment and secure fit throughout the day. These features make the shoe well suited for logistics, light industry, and demanding industrial environments.

Safety with a Distinctive Look

Functional Design with Visual Impact

Beyond technical performance, the Sling is designed to stand out visually. The safety shoe features Mammoet’s recognizable red and black colour scheme, complemented by fluorescent accents that enhance visibility without compromising functionality.

Continuing the Innovation Journey

A Shared Vision for the Future

Emérence van Daalen, Global Marketing & Product Director at Bata Industrials, described the Sling as a natural next step in the partnership.

“This shoe represents the next step in our joint journey. We combine high-quality materials, smart technology and an uncompromising focus on safety and ergonomics. The Sling adapts to the user, not the other way around.”

The Sling will be available in Europe from May 2025. What began as a safety shoe developed for Mammoet employees is now available to professionals across multiple industries who demand high performance, protection, and comfort from their footwear.

Gregoire concluded:

“The Sling is more than a new model. It is an example of what is possible when two market leaders continue to innovate together. Together we go to the extreme one step further with The Sling.”
