Global Crane Services has strengthened its lifting fleet with two new Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 all terrain cranes. The 250-tonne cranes enhance the company’s mobile lifting capabilities across Scotland and follow the recent addition of a Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 earlier in 2026.

Global Crane Services Adds Two Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 Cranes
Scottish crane rental and heavy haulage company Global Crane Services has taken delivery of two new 250-tonne Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 all terrain cranes.
The latest additions form part of the company’s continued fleet expansion strategy and further strengthen its heavy lifting capabilities across the United Kingdom.
The delivery follows closely behind the arrival of a 700-tonne Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1, which joined the company’s fleet earlier this year.
The official handover took place at Liebherr’s manufacturing facility in Ehingen, Germany.
Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 Delivers Strong Lifting Performance and Flexibility
The Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 is one of the most widely used 250-tonne all terrain cranes in the heavy lifting sector.
Six-Section Boom Provides Long Reach Capability
The crane features:
A six-section 60-metre main boom
A 36-metre bi-fold swingaway extension
Extension inserts increasing total reach to 50 metres
Hydraulic offset capability of up to 45 degrees
This configuration provides strong lifting flexibility for a wide range of infrastructure, industrial, energy, and construction applications.
Five-Axle Design Supports Efficient Mobilisation
The five-axle all terrain design allows the crane to combine high lifting capacity with strong road mobility, making it suitable for both urban projects and remote heavy lifting operations.
The cranes will support Global Crane Services’ growing workload across Scotland and the wider UK market.
Liebherr and Global Continue Longstanding Partnership
Representatives from Global Crane Services travelled to Germany to inspect the cranes ahead of delivery.
Liebherr Highlights Ongoing Customer Relationship
Liebherr UK Sales Manager Lyle Sibbald welcomed the Global team during the handover process.
“Thanks to Gordon Harper and Craig Graham from Global, who came to Ehingen to see the first of the two new cranes before it leaves for Aberdeen,” said Sibbald.
The delivery further strengthens the longstanding relationship between Global Crane Services and Liebherr.
