Norwegian rental company Karmøy Lift & Maskinutleie has taken delivery of a 180ft Genie SX-180 telescopic boom lift, further strengthening its ability to support high-reach access requirements across industrial, energy, and large building projects.

The new boom lift was delivered to the company’s depot in Veavågen, south-west Norway.

Extreme Reach Performance

The Genie SX-180 is configured with:

  • A four-section telescopic boom

  • A three-metre rotating articulated jib

This configuration delivers:

  • Working height: almost 57 metres

  • Maximum outreach: up to 24.4 metres

  • Unrestricted platform capacity: 340kg

The machine is also driveable at full height, increasing productivity on large sites.

Safety and Control Features

The SX-180 is equipped with Genie’s Lift Guard Contact Alarm system, which provides audible and visual alerts if the platform comes into contact with overhead structures.

These features support safe operation during complex high-reach tasks, particularly in congested industrial environments.

Meeting Growing Demand for High-Reach Access

Knut Kristoffersen, managing director of Karmøy Lift & Maskinutleie, said demand for extreme reach solutions continues to grow:

“We see increasing demand for extreme reach, particularly on projects involving industry, power infrastructure and large buildings. The Genie SX-180 allows us to take on assignments that previously required alternative access solutions.”
