Nooteboom Launches Two-Axle EURO-PX3 Extendable Low Loader at Solutrans

30 Second Takeaway

Specialised trailer manufacturer Nooteboom has expanded its EURO-PX3 low loader range with the launch of a new two-axle variant, designated EURO-47-02(P3). Unveiled at the Solutrans trade show in Lyon, the trailer is designed to deliver high payload performance while remaining within legal transport dimensions, offering operators greater flexibility without the need for special permits.

Demand for Versatile, Permit-Free Transport

Across Europe, transport operators are increasingly seeking low loader solutions that maximise payload while staying within legal road limits. Equipment capable of operating without special permits reduces administrative burden, improves deployment speed and lowers operating costs.

Nooteboom’s latest addition to the EURO-PX3 series reflects this demand, targeting applications that require manoeuvrability, efficiency and compliance within standard transport regulations.

EURO-PX3 Two-Axle Variant Introduced

The EURO-PX3 series represents the third generation of Nooteboom’s pendle-axle low loaders with hydraulic steering. First announced in April 2025, the range has now been expanded with the introduction of a two-axle version, officially revealed on 18 November at Solutrans.

Designated EURO-47-02(P3), the new trailer runs on 245/70 R-17.5 tyres, providing a load capacity of 12 tonnes per axle line. The total permitted load capacity is 33 tonnes at 80 km/h, making it suitable for a wide range of heavy and construction transport tasks.

Legal Dimensions and Load Flexibility

When retracted, the EURO-47-02(P3) measures less than 12 metres in length and 2.55 metres in width, allowing it to operate within legal road limits without requiring a special transport permit.

When fully extended, the trailer is capable of carrying a 40-foot container on the low bed, combining regulatory compliance with operational flexibility.

Design Improvements Across the PX3 Series

Nooteboom lists several enhancements across the EURO-PX3 range, including:

  • Increased payload capacity

  • A wider excavator trough

  • Additional usable load space

  • Optimised steering system with a large steering angle

  • Improved manoeuvrability and control

  • Reduced tyre wear

  • Lower maintenance requirements

  • A lighter yet more robust chassis

The EURO-47-02(P3) also features Nooteboom’s new intelligent lighting system, further enhancing safety and usability.

First Unit Built for Moovl Transport

The unit displayed at Solutrans was built for Moovl Transport B.V., a Dutch transport company. Following its exhibition appearance, the trailer is scheduled for delivery to the customer.

Expanding the EURO-PX Programme

Nooteboom confirmed it will continue expanding the EURO-PX programme, with additional configurations planned, including Jeepdolly and Interdolly combinations to increase load capacity for more demanding applications.

With a history of trailer innovation dating back to 1953, Nooteboom positions the EURO-PX3 series as one of the most advanced low loader platforms currently available, balancing performance, efficiency and sustainability.
