Flossdorf Takes Delivery of Second Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1
In January, a new Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 mobile crane arrived in Bad Neuenahr, Rhineland-Palatinate, marking the second crane of this type to join the fleet of Dietmar Flossdorf GmbH & Co. KG.
The delivery convoy from Ehingen (Donau) included the 8-axle all-terrain crane, transporters carrying its complete equipment package, escort vehicles, and a brand-new Liebherr LTM 1110-5.2. With this delivery, Flossdorf also placed its first mobile crane equipped with the LICCON3 control system into service.

Flossdorf’s decision to invest again in the LTM 1650-8.1 was based on strong operational experience with the first machine.

First Job: 115-Tonne Lift at the Port of Andernach
Immediately after leaving the Liebherr plant in Ehingen, the new LTM 1650-8.1 headed straight to its first assignment at the Rhine harbour in Andernach.
There, the crane was tasked with loading three machine components, each weighing up to 115 tonnes, onto a barge. The crane had been set up the previous day, allowing lifting operations to begin early in the morning.
Operator Sascha Vogt prepared the lifting gear in low-light conditions, with the extensive spotlight system on the telescopic boom and superstructure turning night into day a significant advantage for occupational safety when handling extreme loads near water.
