Virginia based W.O. Grubb Crane Rental has appointed Ted Redmond as chief executive officer, Dustin Fisher as chief financial officer and Michael Good as senior vice president of operations. The company has also added crane rental veteran Al Bove and private equity executive Brad Creswell to its board following W.O. Grubb’s acquisition by Halo Partners earlier in 2026.

Ted Redmond Named Chief Executive Officer
W.O. Grubb has appointed Ted Redmond as chief executive officer as the company prepares for a new phase of fleet, branch and operational growth.
Redmond joined the company on August 24, 2026, bringing more than two decades of senior leadership experience across the crane rental, equipment rental and industrial services sectors.
He most recently served as executive vice president and chief operating officer for the largest operating segment of Black Diamond Group, which includes Modular Space Solutions. During his seven years with the business, Redmond oversaw an extensive rental fleet and branch network.
Redmond previously led NCSG Crane & Heavy Haul Services as president and chief executive for approximately eight years. During his tenure, the private equity backed crane rental and heavy haul company completed a series of acquisitions and expanded its operations.
“Grubb is a rare opportunity: a 64 year old brand that customers trust with their hardest jobs, built by people who take real pride in their work,”
Redmond said.
“Mike Good and the team have built something special at Grubb, and my job is to keep that intact while we invest in the fleet, the branch network, and our people. With Halo’s backing, we believe we have the capital and the mandate to accelerate our growth and become the leader in the industry, and I’m honored to lead that next chapter.”
Redmond Brings Crane and Industrial Services Experience
Redmond began his career in 1990 as a manager with Boston Consulting Group.
In 1998, he became president of Surface Engineered Products, working within the refining and petrochemical sector. He later served as chief executive of Lacent Technologies before becoming a partner at Kirchner Private Capital.
Redmond returned to oil and gas services in 2006 with Edmonton based McCoy Corporation before entering the crane rental and heavy haul industry as chief executive of NCSG in 2010. After leaving NCSG, he served as chief executive of ZCL Composites in 2018 before joining Modular Space Solutions.
Redmond has also held leadership positions across several crane and heavy transport industry organizations. His previous roles include:
Board member of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association
Chairman of the SC&RA Crane Governance Committee
Chairman of the Crane Rental Association of Canada
Director of the Alberta Crane Owners Association
Director of the British Columbia Crane Owners Association
His experience scaling rental operations and managing multi-branch businesses will support W.O. Grubb’s planned investment in its fleet, employees and operating network.
Dustin Fisher Appointed Chief Financial Officer
Dustin Fisher has joined W.O. Grubb as chief financial officer.
Fisher brings more than two decades of rental industry finance experience, including senior roles with The Hertz Corporation.
He began his career with Hertz in 2000, working in finance and accounting from the company’s Los Angeles operation.
At the end of 2013, Fisher relocated to Melbourne, Australia, where he served in a regional finance leadership position supporting the company’s Asia Pacific operations.
He returned to the United States in 2019 as vice president of financial planning and analysis. Fisher later assumed global responsibility and ultimately served as chief financial officer for global operations.
He left Hertz in 2024 to join automotive events and media company Hoonigan as chief financial officer. At W.O. Grubb, Fisher will oversee financial planning, reporting, capital allocation and other financial functions supporting the company’s growth strategy.
Michael Good Moves Into Operations Leadership Role
Michael Good has been appointed senior vice president of operations after serving as president of W.O. Grubb since June 2025. Good joined W.O. Grubb in 2016 following a 33 year career with AmQuip Crane Rental and Maxim Crane Works.
He began working for Pennsylvania based AmQuip in 1984 as a crane detailer. During his career with the company, he held positions as a yard laborer, truck driver, crane operator, salesperson, operations manager, branch manager and vice president of operations for the Northeast.
Good managed operations across 12 branches and more than 500 employees, providing him with direct experience across crane operations, fleet management, customer service and branch leadership. He moved to W.O. Grubb approximately 18 months after AmQuip was acquired and combined with Maxim Crane Works.
In his new position, Good will continue overseeing W.O. Grubb’s operations, fleet and safety teams while working with Redmond to execute the company’s expansion plans.
“After leading the company through very strong organic growth for the last several years and through its transition from family ownership, I am excited to help continue building one of the strongest teams in the industry,”
Good said.
“Ted has scaled businesses like ours before, and I’m looking forward to partnering with him and all the incredible Grubb employees as senior vice president, continuing to scale our operations, fleet and safety teams as we continue our growth plan.”
Industry Veterans Join Board of Directors
W.O. Grubb has appointed Albert “Al” Bove and Brad Creswell to its board as non-executive directors.
Bove brings more than five decades of crane rental industry experience. His previous leadership positions include serving as chief executive of both AmQuip Crane Rental and Maxim Crane Works, two major North American lifting services companies.
His experience covers crane rental operations, acquisitions, fleet development and the management of large regional and national branch networks.
Creswell brings more than 40 years of experience in private equity and finance. He is a co-founder and partner of NCA Partners, a Seattle based private investment firm.
He has served with NCA Partners since 1992 and has previous experience in the lifting services market, including involvement with NCSG Crane & Heavy Haul Services. Their appointments add crane industry, investment and business development experience to W.O. Grubb’s board.
Finance and Operations Teams Expanded
W.O. Grubb has also expanded its finance, accounting, safety and risk management organization.
Bora Welsh has joined the company as head of financial planning and analysis. Welsh brings nearly 20 years of finance experience, including almost a decade with Hertz. She ultimately served as vice president of financial planning and analysis for the company’s United States business.
James Bryan has been appointed controller. He previously spent more than a decade in accounting and finance leadership roles with Hertz, most recently serving as vice president of global finance shared services. Earlier in his career, Bryan worked in public accounting with PwC and Grant Thornton.
Bill Smith has joined W.O. Grubb as vice president of risk management. Smith brings more than 40 years of experience across crane rental, specialty rigging and heavy haul operations, with a focus on safety, training, risk management and industry standards.
The appointments are intended to provide additional organizational capacity as W.O. Grubb invests in expansion.
Leadership Changes Follow Halo Acquisition
The executive and board appointments follow W.O. Grubb’s acquisition by affiliates of Halo Partners in February 2026. The transaction moved the company from family ownership into private equity backed ownership while maintaining its existing operations and customer services.
Halo said its investment will support:
Continued fleet investment and modernization
Technology and operational improvements
Branch network expansion
Growth across infrastructure and industrial markets
Strategic acquisitions aligned with W.O. Grubb’s services
Investment in employees and organizational capabilities
Nate Mejías and Dilshat Erkin, managing partners at Halo, said the incoming executives have established records of building businesses while supporting their internal cultures.
“We are proud to have them leading Grubb, one of the strongest brands, fleets and group of operators in North America,”
they said.
Growth Focused on Infrastructure and Industrial Markets
W.O. Grubb operates through 13 branches across the Mid-Atlantic and employs approximately 450 people. The company provides lifting, rigging, warehousing, transportation, logistics and engineering services for infrastructure, data center, industrial, commercial construction, telecommunications, energy and port projects.
Its equipment capabilities include cranes with capacities reaching 825 tons, hydraulic gantries rated up to 700 tons, jack and slide systems with capacities up to 600 tons, and 100 lines of Goldhofer hydraulic platform trailers.
Halo’s investment and the expanded leadership team position W.O. Grubb to pursue both organic growth and potential acquisitions. The company has not announced specific new branch locations, fleet purchases or acquisition targets.
