YOKE Increases Global Stock of Model 8-251 Super Point Lifting Point

30-Second Takeaway

YOKE Industrial Corp. has expanded global availability of its Model 8-251 Super Point lifting point, a swivel lifting component designed to automatically align with loads during lifting operations. The product offers capacities from 0.3 tonnes to 40 tonnes and features a ball-bearing design enabling 360° rotation and 230° tilt, improving safety and reducing wear in rigging applications.

YOKE Expands Availability of Super Point Lifting Hardware

YOKE Industrial Corp. has increased global stock levels of its Model 8-251 Super Point, a lifting point designed to improve safety and performance in rigging and lifting operations.

The product is available with capacities ranging from 0.3 tonnes to 40 tonnes and is used in a wide range of industrial lifting applications.

The bolted Super Point forms part of YOKE’s broader portfolio of lifting and rigging equipment, which includes:

  • Grade 80 and Grade 100 lifting chain fittings

  • Swivel hoist hooks

  • Shackles

  • Angular contact swivels

  • Wire rope clips

  • Lifting points

Ball-Bearing Design Enables Automatic Load Alignment

A key feature of the Model 8-251 Super Point is its ball-bearing design, which allows the lifting point to rotate freely during lifting operations.

The lifting point can:

  • Rotate 360°

  • Tilt up to 230°

This flexibility enables the component to automatically align with the direction of the load, helping to reduce side loading forces that commonly occur in real-world lifting situations.

According to Steven Hong, President of YOKE Industrial Corp., this feature plays an important role in improving lifting safety.

“While the ball-bearing feature is ingenious from an engineering standpoint, its value is in enhanced safety. It keeps the lift smooth and reduces wear, which are clear benefits in a multitude of applications,” he said.

Designed for Real-World Lifting Conditions

In many lifting operations, loads are not perfectly vertical. Changing load positions, shifting forces and side loading can place significant stress on lifting hardware.

The Super Point lifting point is designed to adapt to these conditions by automatically orienting itself to the direction of the load.

The component features a forged hexagonal body, making it easy to install or remove using standard tools. Manufactured from forged alloy steel, the product is quenched and tempered to provide strength and durability for demanding lifting environments.

Digital Product Passport Enables Traceability

The Model 8-251 Super Point also incorporates SupraNano digital chips, allowing each unit to be equipped with a Digital Product Passport (DPP). This technology aligns with the European Union’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).

The digital passport enables users to track:

  • Product information

  • Inspection records

  • Usage history

This digital traceability simplifies maintenance planning and inspection processes while supporting improved safety management.

Certified to International Safety Standards

YOKE manufactures the Model 8-251 Super Point in accordance with several international safety standards.

These include:

  • EN1677-1 and EN1677-4 testing standards

  • DGUV GS-OA-15-04 certification

In addition, all YOKE lifting points meet or exceed the requirements of ASME B30.26.

Every load-rated component undergoes:

  • 100% magnaflux crack detection

  • Proof testing to 2.5 times the working load limit (WLL)

The product is also fatigue rated to 20,000 cycles at 1.5 times the WLL, ensuring long-term reliability in lifting operations.

Lifting Points in Industrial Applications

Lifting points serve as the connection between lifting equipment and the load itself.

They are commonly used in operations involving:

  • CNC machinery

  • Industrial moulds

  • Precision-engineered steel structures

In these environments, lifting points are often critical components that contribute to both operational safety and lifting efficiency.
