H.E. Services Manitou Telehandlers Investment Expands UK Rental Fleet

30-Second Takeaway

UK rental company H.E. Services has committed £15 million to 200 new Manitou telehandlers as part of a two-year fleet renewal and expansion strategy. The machines, ranging from compact four metre units to 18 metre models, will be distributed across its UK depots to enhance availability and reliability. The investment reinforces the company’s focus on maintaining a modern fleet and meeting demand across multiple sectors.

H.E. Services Manitou Telehandlers Investment Drives Fleet Renewal

UK rental company H.E. Services has invested £15 million in 200 new Manitou telehandlers, with deliveries already underway as part of a two-year fleet renewal and expansion programme.

The order was placed through Glosrose Group, Manitou’s main dealer for South East England, and includes a wide range of fixed frame telehandlers designed to meet diverse job site requirements.

Wide Range of Telehandler Models

The H.E. Services Manitou telehandlers investment includes machines ranging from four metre sub-compact units to 18 metre full-size models, providing flexibility for applications across construction, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.

The variety of models ensures the company can support both restricted access job sites and larger scale lifting operations.

Strategic Distribution Across Key Locations

The new telehandlers will be deployed across H.E. Services’ 11 depots throughout England and Wales, with a focus on key operational hubs including:

  • Strood, Kent

  • Liverpool

  • Cambridge

  • Cardiff

This distribution strategy is designed to improve fleet availability and service responsiveness in high-demand regions.

Focus on Modern, Reliable Equipment

Equipment manager Richard Stevens said:

“We are pleased to be investing further in our telehandler fleet with this significant order. This renewal ensures we continue to provide our customers with modern and reliable equipment across all of our depots. Working with Glosrose has allowed us to secure high quality machines that meet the demands of a wide range of sectors.”

Glosrose head of sales Jack Hammell added:

“I am thrilled to see the first batch of telehandlers delivered for 2026. H. E. Services and Glosrose have enjoyed a long standing partnership, one that remains as strong today as ever. This month is particularly special as we celebrate our 50th anniversary.”

Ongoing Fleet Modernisation Strategy

The latest investment highlights H.E. Services’ commitment to maintaining a young and efficient fleet, with the company aiming to keep the average equipment age under three years.

The company has a long-standing relationship with Manitou, having purchased its telehandlers since at least 2014. Notably, a similar mix of machines cost around £10 million for 250 units at that time, reflecting changes in both fleet strategy and market conditions.
