Hiab Appoints Manitowoc-Owned MGX as Loader Crane Distributor Across 13 U.S. States

30-Second Takeaway

Hiab has expanded its North American distribution network by appointing Manitowoc-owned MGX Equipment Services as a sales, service, and replacement parts distributor for its loader cranes across 13 U.S. states. The agreement includes the rollout of seven new Hiab Service Centres and strengthens coverage in previously underserved regions, supporting Hiab’s continued growth strategy in the U.S. lifting equipment market.

Hiab Expands U.S. Coverage Through MGX Partnership

Hiab has appointed MGX Equipment Services, a Manitowoc-owned company, as an official distributor for its loader cranes across a 13-state territory in the United States.

Under the agreement, MGX will provide sales, service, and replacement parts support for Hiab’s loader crane portfolio, significantly increasing Hiab’s footprint in key regions.

The distribution territory includes:

Colorado, Delaware, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Dakota, South Dakota, Virginia, Wyoming, and Utah.

Service Network Growth Includes Seven Hiab Service Centres

MGX operates eight locations within the states covered by the agreement. Hiab confirmed that seven of these sites will become designated Hiab Service Centres, supported by mobile service technicians operating in adjoining states.

In total, MGX operates from:

  • 17 warehouses

  • Across 15 U.S. states

  • With Texas and Louisiana each hosting two locations

This expanded service infrastructure is expected to improve response times and aftersales support for customers operating Hiab loader cranes throughout the region.

Hiab Targets Growth in the North American Loader Crane Market

Pauliina Kunvik, Hiab senior vice president of sales and services for North America, said the agreement represents a major milestone in Hiab’s U.S. growth strategy:

“The partnership with MGX is an important milestone in our strategy to grow in the attractive North American market. Their scale and industry expertise significantly enhance our coverage in the USA.”

She added:

“With MGX, we can offer premium sales and service support for our loader cranes in many previously insufficiently covered key regions.”

Manitowoc and MGX Strengthen Market Reach

MGX president Les Middleton emphasized the agreement’s role in accelerating growth for both MGX and Manitowoc in the U.S.:

“This agreement accelerates the growth of MGX and Manitowoc in the US. By expanding our direct to customer reach, we can deliver more value through faster response times, stronger service capability, and deeper customer engagement.”

He added that the partnership supports broader scaling opportunities:

“Together with Hiab, we are strengthening our position in key markets and creating new opportunities to scale across a broader range of lifting solutions.”
