IPAF Summit & IAPAs Postponed to October Amid Middle East Conflict Concerns

30-Second Takeaway

The IPAF Summit and IAPAs have been postponed from April to October 2026 due to safety concerns and travel uncertainty related to the Middle East conflict. Organisers confirmed that the event will still take place in Istanbul using the same venues, with delegates able to transfer bookings or request changes.

IPAF Summit and IAPAs postponed to October

The IPAF Summit and International Awards for Powered Access (IAPAs), originally scheduled for April 21–22 in Istanbul, Turkey, have been postponed until October 14–15, 2026.

The decision to delay the IPAF Summit and IAPAs was made due to ongoing concerns surrounding the conflict in the Middle East, particularly its impact on travel and delegate safety.

Safety and travel concerns drive decision

In an official statement, IPAF confirmed that the postponement of the IPAF Summit and IAPAs was necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of delegates, sponsors, and staff.

The organisation highlighted ongoing uncertainties around international travel, especially for attendees from the Middle East, including companies shortlisted for the IAPAs awards.

IPAF stated

“The event has been delayed as a result of current events in the Middle East and the need to ensure the safety and wellbeing of delegates, sponsors and employees. In particular, we are aware of the uncertainties around travel for delegates from the Middle East, including companies from the region shortlisted for the awards.”

Event to proceed in Istanbul with same venues

Despite the postponement, the IPAF Summit and IAPAs will still take place in Istanbul, with organisers confirming that the same hotels and venues will be used for the networking reception, IPAF Summit, and IAPAs ceremony.

The recommended hotels for the event have been notified of the schedule change, allowing for continuity in planning and logistics for attendees.

Delegates advised to update travel and bookings

Delegates registered for the IPAF Summit and IAPAs will be able to transfer their bookings to the new October dates.

IPAF advised that attendees who are unable to attend the rescheduled event should contact the organisation directly. Participants will also need to make necessary adjustments to their hotel and airline bookings.

Industry response to postponement

IPAF chief executive Peter Douglas acknowledged the disruption caused by the decision, while emphasising that safety remains the top priority.

He said:

“As joint organisers, we regret the need to take this action, but it had become clear in recent days that we had no choice but to change the dates. The safety of all those involved in the Summit and IAPAs is paramount.”
“We know this will be an inconvenience for all those attending the event and we ask for your understanding.”

Impact on global powered access industry events calendar

The postponement of the IPAF Summit and IAPAs highlights the ongoing impact of geopolitical instability on major international powered access events.

As one of the most prominent global gatherings in the powered access industry, the IPAF Summit and IAPAs attract manufacturers, rental companies, and industry leaders from across the world.

The rescheduling ensures that the event can proceed later in the year under safer and more stable conditions.
