Koltho Elevación Expands Fleet with New Grove GMK4080L All Terrain Crane

30-Second Takeaway

Spain-based crane rental company Koltho Elevación has strengthened its lifting fleet with a new Grove GMK4080L all terrain crane. Featuring a 60-metre main boom and strong axle load flexibility, the crane will support tower crane installation and industrial projects while continuing the company’s long-standing partnership with Grove and Manitowoc.

Koltho Elevación Adds New Grove GMK4080L to Growing Crane Fleet

Spanish crane rental company Koltho Elevación has taken delivery of a new 80-tonne Grove GMK4080L all terrain crane to support its expanding lifting operations.

The new crane will primarily be used for:

  • Tower crane installations

  • Industrial lifting projects

  • General mobile crane operations

The addition further strengthens the company’s mobile crane fleet as demand continues growing across infrastructure, industrial, and construction sectors in Spain.

Grove GMK4080L Delivers Strong Reach and Transport Flexibility

The Grove GMK4080L is designed to combine compact transport dimensions with high lifting performance and long boom reach.

60-Metre Main Boom Supports Tower Crane Work

The crane features a:

  • 60-metre seven-section main boom

  • Optional 8.7 to 15-metre bi-fold swingaway extension

  • Up to 40 degrees of offset

This configuration provides a maximum tip height of approximately 78 metres, making the crane well suited for tower crane erection and complex industrial lifting tasks.

Axle Load Flexibility Improves Mobility

The GMK4080L can transport:

  • Up to 13.3 tonnes of its 19.1-tonne counterweight within 12-tonne axle limits

  • 5.2 tonnes of counterweight while maintaining 10-tonne axle loads

This flexibility improves road transport efficiency and simplifies crane mobilisation between project locations.

Koltho Elevación Highlights Longstanding Trust in Grove

Koltho Elevación said the purchase decision was influenced by both the crane’s technical capabilities and the company’s long-term relationship with Grove and Manitowoc.

Company Praises Grove Reliability and Support

Koltho Elevación General Manager Rafael Garcia said the company conducted a detailed evaluation before selecting the crane.

“Our decision to purchase the Grove GMK4080L is based on our long standing trust in Grove and the customer support we continue to receive from the local Manitowoc team,” said Garcia.
“When we ran a detailed analysis of the GMK4080L’s capabilities, it was clearly the best choice for our work.”

The delivery was attended by members of the Garcia family, including Alejandro, Rafael, and Jose Garcia.

Family-Owned Business Continues Fleet Expansion in Spain

Koltho Elevación operates as the mobile crane division of Spanish tower crane rental company Rafha Gruas Torre.

Company Operates Large Tower Crane Fleet

Based in the port city of Cartagena in Spain’s Murcia region, Rafha Gruas Torre operates a fleet of approximately 60 tower cranes supporting construction projects across the region.

Koltho Elevación complements the business by providing mobile crane services for lifting, erection, and industrial applications.

Leadership Transition Planned for Next Generation

Both companies were founded by Rafael Garcia, who plans to gradually transition leadership responsibilities to his sons, Alejandro and Jose Garcia.

The latest Grove acquisition forms part of the company’s continued investment strategy focused on modern lifting equipment and long-term fleet development.
