Potain MCT 275 Tower Cranes Deliver Three Years of Zero Downtime in Tbilisi Project

30-Second Takeaway

Two Potain MCT 275 tower cranes have delivered more than three years of continuous operation with zero unplanned downtime on the Central Park Towers development in Tbilisi, Georgia. Supported by strong service and maintenance from Manitowoc, the cranes have played a critical role in maintaining construction progress on the multi-phase hotel project.

Potain MCT 275 Tower Cranes

Two Potain MCT 275 topless tower cranes have supported daily lifting operations on a complex hotel development in Tbilisi, Georgia, delivering three years of continuous performance without unplanned downtime.

The cranes are operating on the Central Park Towers project, a large-scale five-star integrated resort and hotel development where crane reliability is essential to maintaining construction momentum.

Supporting Central Park Towers Development

The Central Park Towers project is located in downtown Tbilisi and is managed by Radisson Blu, with development led by Orbi Group Tbilisi, which also serves as the main contractor.

Construction has progressed through multiple phases, supported by a large on-site workforce. Throughout the build, the Potain MCT 275 cranes have remained central to operations, ensuring efficient material flow and sustained productivity.

Crane Configuration and Performance

The two cranes on site are 10-tonne versions of the MCT 275, initially installed in a freestanding configuration before climbing to final working heights of 150 metres.

They are configured with 45-metre and 50-metre jibs, enabling flexible lifting operations as the structure developed. The cranes’ consistent uptime has been a key factor in maintaining project timelines.

Service Support Drives Reliability

According to Konstantin Guba, customer service director for the Middle East and North Africa at Manitowoc, crane performance is closely tied to service support.

“Maintaining crane availability on a complex project like Central Park Towers needs more than just reliable equipment; it depends on strong service support throughout. The Manitowoc customer support team has been on the project from the start, handling erection and commissioning, then training the local team in maintenance and operation. We’ve also provided regular maintenance, comprehensive inspections, engineering support, and ongoing parts supply to ensure the cranes perform reliably.”

This comprehensive support approach has enabled the cranes to operate continuously without interruption.

Designed for Large-Scale Construction

The Potain MCT 275 is available in 10-tonne and 12-tonne versions, with jib lengths ranging from 30 metres to 70 metres.

With end-of-jib capacities of up to 2.3 tonnes, the crane is designed for large-scale construction projects requiring flexibility, reach and long-term reliability. Its performance on the Tbilisi project highlights its suitability for complex, multi-structure developments.
