Long-term partnership with Liebherr
Richi AG, based in Weiningen (canton of Zürich), has expanded its fleet with an LTM 1110-5.2 mobile crane from Liebherr. With the 110-tonne crane, the Swiss company is choosing versatility, efficiency and sustainability. State-of-the-art Liebherr mobile crane technology ensures safety, comfort and cost-effectiveness.

“To grow further in our core business, we need a powerful taxi crane. The LTM 1110-5.2 offers use precisely the flexibility and performance we need”, explains Markus Fleck, Head of the Cranes & Specialist Transport Business Unit at Richi AG. “Thanks to its load capacity, reach and high basic ballast, the 5-axle crane is perfect for all kinds of projects.”

Reduced ballast transport of the Liebherr LTM 1110-5.2
One crucial criterion was the high basic ballast of 13.4 tonnes with an axle load of 12 tonnes. “In most cases, we are able to use the crane without an additional vehicle for ballast transport. This means we can not only reduce the work involved with transport, but we can also cut our fleet’s operating costs and CO₂ emissions”, continues Fleck. “The crane also impresses with modern engine technology, optimised exhaust gas parameters and low fuel consumption. The LTM 1110-5.2 offers innovative functions such as LICCON3, VarioBase and ECOmode, which not only improve safety and performance, but also reduce our operating costs.”
The new mobile crane will primarily be used for the assembly and dismantling of tower cranes. In Richi AG’s fleet structure, it closes the gap between an LTM 1070-4.2 and the 120-tonne LTM 1120-4.1. Richi uses the powerful 4-axle crane where restricted space creates particular challenges. Overall, the company now has eight mobile cranes - from a 40-tonne model to the 350-tonne LTM 1350-6.1. Richi AG is also impressed with the concept of Liebherr mobile construction cranes and is currently operating an MK 88 and an MK 100. The latter will be replaced in the first quarter of 2026 with a Liebherr MK 120-5.1. The crane fleet is supplemented with four truck-loading cranes.
Long-term partnership with Liebherr
Fleck explains the reason behind the decision to choose Liebherr: the partnership of many years' standing and the personalised advice from Liebherr’s sales team. “Since our second supplier in this class doesn't offer a comparable model, the Liebherr LTM 1110-5.2 was our number one choice. The expert support from our contact in the sales team and customer services just made us even more convinced we were making the right decision.” In April 1980, Richi received its first Liebherr truck-mounted crane, a 6-axle LT 1090 with a lifting capacity of 90 tonnes.
Just one day after the handover, the new crane tackled its first mission. The positive feedback from employees and customers confirmed that the investment was a sound one. “With the LTM 1110-5.2, we are not just strengthening our fleet, but also the satisfaction and motivation of our team”, says Fleck.
