Steil Kranarbeiten takes delivery of Tadano All Terrain cranes

German crane rental company Steil Kranarbeiten has taken delivery of four new Tadano All Terrain cranes, continuing its investment in fleet modernisation and operational capability.

The delivery includes two 80 tonne AC 4.080-1 cranes, one 220 tonne AC 5.220-1, and one 220 tonne AC 5.220L-1, providing a mix of compact and higher-capacity lifting solutions.

Deployment across multiple locations and applications

The new Tadano All Terrain cranes will be deployed across several of Steil’s locations, with two units based in Trier, one in Saarwellingen, and one primarily dedicated to wind energy projects.

In Trier, the company has positioned an AC 4.080-1 as a versatile all-round crane, replacing an older ATF 70, alongside the AC 5.220L-1, which offers extended reach for more demanding lifts.

The second AC 4.080-1 has been delivered to Saarwellingen, where it will operate as a taxi crane, supporting flexible, rapid deployment jobs.

Tadano AC 5.220-1 supports wind energy sector

The Tadano AC 5.220-1 will be primarily utilised for wind energy applications, a key sector for Steil’s operations across Europe.

With its higher lifting capacity, the AC 5.220-1 is suited to handling components and maintenance work within the growing renewable energy market.

Strong partnership between Tadano and Steil

Tadano sales manager Frank Brachtendorf highlighted the ongoing relationship between the two companies, stating

“Steil is a highly valued customer with whom we work closely. They consistently provide us with valuable feedback.”

The continued collaboration reflects Steil’s confidence in Tadano All Terrain cranes and their performance across a range of lifting applications.

Steil strengthens position in European crane market

Based in Trier, Steil Kranarbeiten operates four depots across Germany, as well as a location in Luxembourg, supporting projects across Europe.

The company runs a fleet of approximately 115 cranes, with capacities up to 1,000 tonnes, and employs around 300 personnel.

In addition to crane hire, Steil provides services including industrial moving, heavy haulage, recovery and towing, as well as oil spill response, with a strong presence in the wind power sector.
