Tadano Pan America Strengthens AWP Strategy and Manitex Sales Leadership

30 Second Takeaway

Tadano Pan America has strengthened its leadership team with two key appointments supporting growth across aerial work platforms (AWPs) and Manitex-branded lifting equipment. Tyler Brown has been appointed National Business Manager for Aerial Work Platforms, leading Pan-American AWP development, while Scott Walter has been named Vice President of Sales for the Manitex business, supporting ongoing integration and sales focus following Tadano’s acquisition last year.

Tyler Brown Appointed National AWP Business Manager

Tadano Pan America has appointed Tyler Brown as National Business Manager for Aerial Work Platforms (AWPs). In this role, Brown will lead the North American AWP sales team while supporting Tadano’s broader Pan-American access equipment strategy.

Although Tadano has manufactured aerial work platforms for many years primarily for the Japanese market ts Pan-American AWP offering has expanded following the acquisition of Nagano in late 2023 and Oil & Steel spider lifts through the Manitex acquisition completed at the end of 2024.

Industry Experience

Brown joins Tadano Pan America from RSW – Rental Supply Warehouse. He began his powered access career in 2004 with Genie, spending 14 years progressing to regional sales manager. He later held senior leadership roles at Acme Lift and North Valley Research, before returning to the equipment supply sector.

“It is an extreme privilege to join Tadano and help lead the growth of our aerial work platform business across the Americas,” said Brown.

Scott Walter Appointed VP of Sales for Manitex Business

In a separate appointment, Tadano Pan America has named Scott Walter as Vice President of Sales for the Manitex business. The role supports Tadano’s continued integration of Manitex products, people, and sales operations into the broader Tadano Pan America organisation.

Walter’s appointment reflects an increased focus on sales leadership, customer support, and product alignment across boom trucks, knuckle boom cranes, bucket trucks, and sign cranes carrying the Manitex brand.

Strengthening Sales Operations

Walter joins Tadano Pan America after more than 16 years with Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, most recently serving as Vice President of Strategic OEM Accounts. His earlier career includes senior roles with Ingersoll Rand, Wirtgen, and IronPlanet.

Under the updated structure:

  • Jeff Long, Director of Sales for Boom Trucks, Bucket Trucks and Sign Cranes

  • Anthony Hampton, Director of Sales for Knuckle Boom Cranes

will report directly to Walter.

Dean Barley, CEO of Tadano Pan America, said:

“The Manitex acquisition is a key part of Tadano’s long-term strategy to broaden our lifting equipment portfolio. Scott’s appointment strengthens our sales leadership and reinforces our commitment to customer support.”
