Improving Safety and Hazard Awareness The MEWP Spotter course focuses on critical safety elements, including: Spotter responsibilities Safe positioning of equipment Establishing exclusion zones Communication methods, including hand signals Hazard and obstacle awareness These elements are designed to reduce the risk of incidents when manoeuvring mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) in complex or confined worksites. Flexible Online Training Format The training is theory-based and delivered entirely online, taking approximately two and a half hours to complete. Participants who successfully pass the final assessment receive a qualification valid for five years, providing a standardized approach to spotter competency across job sites. The course is now available through IPAF training centres in all English-speaking regions outside of North America.
