TII India Marks Ten Years as a Key Global Hub for Heavy Transport Systems

Ten years after launching operations in Bawal near New Delhi, TII India Pvt. Ltd. has grown into a major manufacturing and engineering hub for the TII Group, producing modular heavy transport systems for global infrastructure, energy and industrial projects.

30-Second Takeaway TII India Pvt. Ltd. is celebrating ten years of operations at its Bawal manufacturing facility, which has grown into a strategic production and engineering hub for the TII Group’s global heavy transport network. Since launching production in 2015, the facility has delivered thousands of axle lines, expanded to a 30,000 m² production area, and now supports projects across India, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa and Europe. TII India From Assembly Facility to Global Manufacturing Hub Ten years after launching operations in Bawal, near New Delhi, TII India Pvt. Ltd. has evolved into a strategic manufacturing and engineering centre for the global TII Group. Since production began in 2015, the facility has expanded significantly, moving from the assembly of pre-built modules into a key manufacturing hub producing heavy transport systems for both Indian and international markets. Today, the site employs around 350 people and operates across a 30,000 m² production area, having delivered several thousand axle lines over the past decade. From the outset, the facility was integrated into the TII Group’s global production network, operating under the same engineering and quality standards used at the company’s German manufacturing plants. According to Miguel Fernandes, managing director of TII India, the facility was initially established to create a strong industrial base in the region. Over time, however, it has developed into a globally connected hub supporting major heavy transport projects around the world. The SCHEUERLE K25 Platform Driving Global Transport Solutions Central to the facility’s development is the SCHEUERLE K25 modular transport system, which forms the technical platform for a wide range of heavy transport applications. The system is widely used across infrastructure development, energy projects and large-scale industrial construction, where modular heavy transporters are required to move oversized and extremely heavy components. A key advantage of the SCHEUERLE K25 is its modular configuration capability. The system can be tailored to meet national transport regulations or international homologation standards, allowing it to be deployed across multiple markets. Since 2022, the Bawal facility has also produced variants compliant with UNECE requirements, enabling the transport systems to operate in highly regulated international markets. Engineering Milestones Over the Past Decade Over the past ten years, TII India has achieved several engineering milestones. One of the earliest breakthroughs came in 2016, when the facility delivered its first telescopic SCHEUERLE Extender units, designed to transport wind turbine rotor blades up to 62 metres long. These transport solutions support the growing global wind energy sector, where the length of turbine blades continues to increase as projects scale up. The facility has also delivered several large-scale heavy transport solutions for domestic customers, including girder bridge systems with payload capacities of up to 500 tonnes and 550 tonnes for Indian transport companies. Supporting Heavy Transport Projects Worldwide Transport solutions manufactured at the Bawal facility are now deployed across a wide range of international markets. According to the TII Group, systems produced in India are currently operating in regions including: The Middle East Southeast Asia Latin America Africa Europe Today, around two-thirds of TII India’s revenue comes from international projects, highlighting the facility’s growing importance within the group’s global manufacturing network. Expanding Engineering and Service Capabilities in India The company has continued to expand its presence in India to support growing regional demand for heavy transport solutions. With the opening of a new office in Pune in 2025, TII India has strengthened its engineering, sales and service capabilities across the country and throughout Asia. The expansion further reinforces the strategic role of the Bawal facility as a major hub within the TII Group’s global heavy transport network, supporting infrastructure, energy and industrial transport projects worldwide. About TII Group The TII Group (Transporter Industry International GmbH) is a global manufacturer of heavy-duty transport vehicles and engineered transport solutions used for moving oversized and extremely heavy loads.
