A Career Spanning More Than Half a Century Dave Williams began his crane career in 1969 , aged just 15 , as a trainee crane operator  with GW Sparrow & Sons . Over time, the company evolved into Grayson White & Sparrows , before becoming part of Ainscough Crane Hire . Williams went on to hold the role of Contract Lift Manager  at Ainscough’s Bristol depot , where he built a strong reputation for technical expertise, leadership, and safe lift planning . He took semi-retirement in 2020 , but after more than five decades in the industry, has chosen to remain active in the profession.
