First Gulf Sky Expands Fleet with Three Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1 Cranes

30-Second Takeaway

First Gulf Sky has taken delivery of three Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1 mobile cranes, strengthening its fleet in the 120-tonne class. The cranes bridge the gap between 100- and 160-tonne units, offering high flexibility for industrial lifting and steel structure assembly, with plans already in place to acquire five additional units of the newer LTM 1120-4.2 model.

Strategic Fleet Expansion in the 120-Tonne Class

Saudi Arabian crane rental specialist First Gulf Sky has expanded its fleet with three Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1 mobile cranes. The addition of the 120-tonne cranes fills a strategic gap between the company’s 100-tonne and 160-tonne units, enabling it to cover a broader range of lifting applications. The move is aimed at improving operational flexibility, efficiency, and performance, particularly in demanding industrial environments.

Designed for Industrial and Steel Structure Work

The new Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1 mobile cranes will be deployed across a wide range of applications, including:

  • Steel structure assembly

  • Operations in industrial plants and steelworks

  • Maintenance and repair work

  • Component replacement and system upgrades

These projects are often time-critical and technically complex, requiring cranes with strong performance and adaptability.

Ali Saleh Al Faidmah, owner of First Gulf Sky, said:

“Thanks to its compact dimensions, the LTM 1120-4.1 is ideal for industrial applications. For us, it’s the wild card of the fleet, so to speak, as it can be used flexibly in a wide variety of work situations.”

Powerful Performance in a Compact Design

The LTM 1120-4.1 stands out as the most powerful four-axle mobile crane in its class.

Key advantages include:

  • Longest telescopic boom in its category

  • High lifting capacities, particularly at steep boom angles

  • Compact design for improved manoeuvrability

These features allow the crane to handle tasks that might otherwise require larger five-axle cranes, reducing transport complexity and associated costs.

A Central Role Within the Fleet

With its versatility and performance, the Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1 mobile crane is expected to play a central role in First Gulf Sky’s operations. The company highlighted that the crane strengthens its ability to deliver efficient, high-performance lifting solutions across a wide range of industrial projects. The decision to invest further is already clear, with plans to acquire five additional units of the successor model, the LTM 1120-4.2.

Continued Partnership with Liebherr

First Gulf Sky cited quality, reliability, and customer service as key reasons for choosing Liebherr.

Al Faidmah added:

“We deliberately chose Liebherr – because of the strong combination of quality, reliability and strong customer service. Liebherr offers unbeatable added value in demanding working environments.”

This ongoing partnership supports the company’s strategy of maintaining a modern, high-performance fleet.

Supporting Industrial Growth in Saudi Arabia

Founded in 1992, First Gulf Sky is a leading crane rental company operating in major industrial zones, including Aramco and SABIC facilities. The company manages a fleet of around 20 mobile cranes and employs more than 150 staff, supporting large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects across the region. The addition of the LTM 1120-4.1 cranes further enhances its capability to handle complex lifting operations in fast-paced industrial environments.
