Jekko Appoints KoWu as South Korean Dealer

30 Second Takeaway

Italian crane manufacturer Jekko has appointed KoWu, a division of South Korea’s Kilwoo Group, as its new distributor for the South Korean market. The partnership strengthens Jekko’s presence in Asia, delivering local sales, service, parts, and technical support for its full range of spider cranes and pick & carry cranes, with immediate machine availability from KoWu’s dedicated warehouse in Goyang-si.

Strategic Expansion in South Korea

Jekko has named KoWu, part of the Kilwoo Group, as its authorised distributor for South Korea. The agreement covers the complete Jekko product portfolio and provides customers with comprehensive local support, including sales of new and used machines, warranty administration, servicing, spare parts supply, and technical consultancy.

KoWu operates from Goyang-si, north-west of Seoul, with access to the Kilwoo Group’s wider national infrastructure, ensuring fast response times and broad market coverage.

A Strong Industrial Partner

Founded in 1980, the Kilwoo Group is a well-established supplier of heavy lifting, transport, and measurement equipment in South Korea. Its portfolio includes:

  • HSC / Sumitomo lattice crawler cranes

  • Link-Belt rough terrain, truck and telescopic crawler cranes

  • Sennebogen cranes and material handlers

  • Pettibone telehandlers

  • Lampson Transi-Lift® systems

  • Scheuerle heavy transport solutions

  • Konecranes / Gottwald port and marine handling equipment

This extensive experience positions KoWu to support Jekko customers operating in demanding sectors such as urban redevelopment, infrastructure, industrial construction, and green building projects.

Local Stock and Rapid Deployment

KoWu will maintain an inventory of pre-delivery inspected (PDI’d) Jekko machines, stored at a dedicated warehouse in Goyang-si. This enables same-day shipment when required, reducing lead times and improving responsiveness for rental companies and contractors.

Meeting Demand for Compact and Electric Cranes

Jekko sales manager Marco Piccin highlighted the alignment between Jekko’s product range and South Korea’s evolving construction landscape:

“We see a strong market potential in South Korea, especially in areas tied to urban redevelopment, smart cities, infrastructure, and green building technologies. Jekko cranes perfectly fit these needs, with the widest range of battery-operated cranes ideal for indoor operation and compact units for tight urban jobsites.”

KoWu sales director Jinhaeng Choi added:

“Visiting the Jekko facility confirmed that R&D and manufacturing are handled directly in-house. Jekko’s philosophy and customer focus resonated strongly with us, giving us the confidence to move forward with this partnership.”
