Updated: Jan 1

30-Second Takeaway

Singapore-based Peck Tiong Choon has invested in a Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1, strengthening its fleet with the most powerful 4-axle mobile crane on the market. The 120-tonne crane supports major infrastructure projects such as airport expansion, MRT development, and urban construction, while modernizing the company’s 100-tonne class after more than 20 years of partnership with Liebherr.

Peck Tiong Choon, a leading lifting, transport, and logistics provider in Singapore, has expanded its crane fleet with the addition of a Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1. With a maximum lifting capacity of 120 tonnes and a 66-metre telescopic boom, the crane is now the most powerful four-axle unit in the company’s lineup.

The investment supports both major long-term infrastructure projects and daily crane rental operations, while marking a strategic step in fleet modernization.

Investment Driven by Major Infrastructure Projects

The decision to add the LTM 1120-4.1 was closely tied to Peck Tiong Choon’s involvement in Singapore’s most demanding construction programs.

“As part of our involvement in major projects like airport expansion, mass rapid transit (MRT), and other infrastructure developments, we decided to invest in the new LTM 1120-4.1,” said Teow Seng Pay, Managing Director of Peck Tiong Choon Transport Pte Ltd and Peck Tiong Choon Logistics Pte Ltd.

“As the most powerful 4-axle crane on the market, it offers the capacity we need. At the same time, it was the right moment to modernize our 100-tonne class.”

Performance, Mobility, and Flexibility

The LTM 1120-4.1 was selected for its combination of compact design, mobility, and lifting performance, making it particularly well suited for projects that require frequent relocation between sites.

Key advantages include:

  • 66-metre telescopic boom — the longest in its class

  • VarioBase® technology for flexible outrigger positioning in confined urban spaces

  • High lifting capacities with reduced setup time

  • Strong roadability for short-term and rapid-response jobs

“The new crane will be used for short-term construction projects as well as daily crane rental operations,” Pay explained.

A Modern, Balanced Fleet

With the delivery of the LTM 1120-4.1, Peck Tiong Choon continues to develop its fleet in a targeted and balanced way.

The company now operates:

  • 12 mobile cranes, ranging from the LTM 1070-4.2 to the LTM 1750-9.1

  • 4 crawler cranes of the LTR 1100 type

This range allows the company to support everything from compact urban lifts to large-scale infrastructure and heavy industrial work.

More Than 20 Years of Partnership with Liebherr

Beyond performance, long-term value played a critical role in the investment decision. Peck Tiong Choon cited Liebherr’s technology, build quality, strong resale value, and reliable service support as decisive factors.

The partnership dates back to 2003, when the company purchased its first Liebherr crane, an LTM 1200/1. Since then, Liebherr cranes have remained a core part of the fleet.

“High resale value and dependable aftersales support are essential for us,” Pay noted. “Liebherr continues to deliver on both.”

Commitment to Safety

Peck Tiong Choon places a strong emphasis on workplace safety, supported by its bizSAFE STAR certification  the highest level in Singapore’s bizSAFE program. This accreditation confirms that safety and health management systems are deeply embedded in the company’s operations and remain a top priority across all lifting and logistics activities.
