Leguan 170 Spider Lift Expands All Terrain Range at 17 Metres

Updated: Feb 5

30 Second Takeaway

Leguan Lifts is expanding its All Terrain spider lift lineup with the launch of the Leguan 170, a compact 17-metre platform offering strong outreach, simple boom architecture, and diesel or electric power options. The model shares design principles and components with larger Leguan lifts, simplifying operation and maintenance across fleets.

Leguan 170 Spider Lift Launches at End of Month

Finnish aerial lift manufacturer Leguan Lifts will introduce the Leguan 170 spider lift at the end of the month, strengthening the lower end of its All Terrain series.

Simple Boom Design and Working Envelope

The Leguan 170 features a single-section riser, topped by a two-section telescopic boom and a jib offering 120 degrees of articulation. This configuration delivers a maximum working height of 16.8 metres and a maximum outreach of 8.9 metres with 120kg in the platform.

The maximum platform capacity of 250kg is available at up to eight metres of outreach or a working height of 15 metres. The platform measures 1.3 metres by 760mm, providing adequate space for tools and materials.

With outriggers deployed, the lift operates within a 4.12-metre square footprint, supporting stability on uneven terrain.

Compact Transport Dimensions and Power Options

The Leguan 170 has compact stowed dimensions designed for restricted-access sites:

  • Overall width: 1.34 metres

  • Overall length: 5.3 metres (with basket fitted)

  • Overall height: 2.1 metres

Power is provided by either a Kubota diesel engine or an electric motor, with a total operating weight of 2,530kg.

Standard and Optional Features

Standard features on the Leguan 170 include:

  • Automatic levelling

  • Home and Return-to-Work controls

  • Automatic outreach monitoring

Optional equipment includes remote controls and non-marking tracks, allowing customers to configure the lift for indoor or sensitive surface applications. The lift’s track system is designed to absorb uneven ground conditions, improving stability during travel and setup.

Part of the Leguan All Terrain Series

The Leguan 170 joins the All Terrain series alongside the:

  • Leguan 195 (19.5 metres)

  • Leguan 225 (22.5 metres)

  • Leguan 265 (26.5 metres)

All four models share common design principles, identical user interfaces, and a high level of component commonality, enabling easier transitions for operators and mechanics while simplifying training, maintenance, and spare parts management.

Conexpo Appearance Planned

Leguan Lifts has confirmed that attendees at Conexpo next month can expect to see the Leguan 170 displayed on the Avant Techno stand in the Festival Lot.
