Jekko Launches Updated SPX 532.2 Spider Crane with Improved Stability and Controls

30 Second Takeaway

Jekko has unveiled the updated SPX 532.2 spider crane, a refined evolution of its popular 3.2-tonne model. Launched at Vertikal Days and set to appear at GIS, the new version delivers improved stability, lighter boom construction, enhanced outrigger positioning, and upgraded remote controls while maintaining the compact footprint that defines the SPX series.

Evolution of a Proven Spider Crane

Italian crane manufacturer Jekko officially launched the SPX 532.2 spider crane at Vertikal Days last week, continuing the evolution of one of its most versatile compact lifting machines. The crane will also be showcased on Jekko’s stand at GIS, allowing international customers to view the latest updates firsthand.

While visually similar to the outgoing SPX 532, the SPX 532.2 introduces several meaningful technical refinements aimed at improving jobsite performance and operator confidence.

Key Updates and Enhancements

The SPX 532.2 benefits from a slightly lighter boom, contributing to improved lifting efficiency and transport characteristics. Jekko has also upgraded the crane’s outrigger system, introducing sturdier outrigger legs with nine fixed positioning options, compared to five on the previous model. This significantly enhances setup flexibility on uneven or restricted sites.

In addition, the crane now features Autec remote controls, improving ergonomics, responsiveness, and overall control during lifting operations.

Compact Power and Lifting Performance

The SPX 532.2 is equipped with a 10.3-metre main boom and a 5.1-metre jib, delivering a maximum tip height of 17.3 metres.

Using the main boom only, the crane offers:

  • 1.45 tonnes to a height of 11.8 metres

  • 500 kg at a 9.4-metre radius

  • 100 kg at the maximum 14.8-metre radius

  • Pick & carry capacity of 400 kg

Its compact dimensions remain a standout feature:

  • Overall width: 770 mm

  • Height: 1.97 metres

  • Length: 3.145 metres

  • Total weight: 2.52 tonnes

These specifications make the SPX 532.2 ideal for indoor, urban, and access-restricted lifting applications.
