Tadano has expanded its crawler crane lineup with the introduction of the CC 78.1250-1, a next-generation lattice boom crawler crane offering 1,375 US tons of capacity, increased hook height, enhanced safety systems, and improved transport efficiency. Designed with heavy lift and wind energy applications in mind, the new model builds on the proven CC 68.1250-1 platform with significant performance and sustainability upgrades.

Tadano has officially introduced the CC 78.1250-1, the latest evolution in its lattice boom crawler crane portfolio. With a maximum lifting capacity of 1,375 US tons, the new crane builds on the established performance of the CC 68.1250-1, while incorporating major advancements in lifting capability, safety, efficiency, and transportability.
The CC 78.1250-1 is designed to meet the increasingly complex demands of modern heavy lifting operations, particularly in sectors such as wind energy, large infrastructure, and industrial construction.
Enhanced Performance for Heavy Lift and Wind Applications
Configured with a 49.2-foot fixed jib, the CC 78.1250-1 achieves a maximum hook height of 736.5 feet, while maintaining a lifting capacity of 154.3 US tons at height. To further improve stiffness and load stability, Tadano has increased the base crane width to 11.5 feet.
The crane can be equipped with crawler shoes measuring 6.6 feet or 7.9 feet, allowing contractors to adapt ground pressure to site conditionsan important consideration for sensitive or restricted job sites.

Advanced Design and Redundant Systems
“The CC 78.1250-1 represents a significant step forward in Tadano’s crawler crane development,” said Andreas Hofmann, Executive Vice President of Research & Development at Tadano.
Customer feedback played a central role in the crane’s design, particularly in optimizing transport, assembly, and operational efficiency.
The crane features a dual-engine configuration with an optimized hydraulic system that allows single-engine operation at reduced speeds. This design increases redundancy, improves fuel efficiency, and maximizes uptime.
An optional auxiliary power unit allows cab systems, HVAC, and lighting to operate independently using a compact 22.8-hp diesel engine, reducing fuel consumption and emissions during standby operation.
Safety and Operator Support
Safety remains a core focus of the CC 78.1250-1. The crane is equipped with the Tadano Fall Protection System and features enhanced access throughout the superstructure and undercarriage, including improved handrails, catwalks, and access ladders.
Operator visibility has been improved through a redesigned cab with an expanded field of view, supported by multiple cameras and mirrors that help monitor hoist drums and blind spots around the crane.
Added Versatility with Optional Outrigger Configuration
For projects on uneven terrain, the CC 78.1250-1 can be configured with an optional Pedestal Crane (PC) kit, replacing the crawlers with outriggers. This setup allows precise leveling at three outrigger bases:
39.4 ft × 39.4 ft
45.9 ft × 45.9 ft
52.5 ft × 52.5 ft
The PC kit improves compatibility with existing foundations, reduces site preparation requirements, and minimizes environmental impact.
Sustainability and Smart Monitoring
The CC 78.1250-1 is equipped with Tadano’s IC-1 control system, standard across its crawler crane lineup. The system provides real-time ground pressure data during boom erection and lifting operations, improving safety and efficiency.
The crane’s twin Mercedes-Benz engines are compatible with HVO fuel, supporting reduced CO₂ emissions without compromising performance. In addition, IC-1 Remote telematics enables real-time diagnostics and remote troubleshooting, helping fleet owners minimize downtime and optimize crane utilization.
Optimized Transport and Assembly
Designed with logistics in mind, the CC 78.1250-1 features accessible lifting points on major components to support safe and efficient assembly. Manufactured in Zweibrücken, Tadano’s center of excellence for mobile cranes, the machine meets stringent global safety and
quality standards while incorporating components from established suppliers.
