Würzburger Kranverleih und Bergungsdienst GmbH has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1100-5.3 mobile crane. The 100-tonne crane has a 62-metre-long telescopic boom, a modern crane design, LICCON3 control and the innovative TraXon DynamicPerform ZF gear unit. It replaces an eleven-year-old LTM 1090-4.1 in the Lower Franconia-based family-run company’s crane fleet.

Ehingen (Donau), (Germany), 4 July 2025 – Business owner Ibrahim Haido already has experience of the latest generation of Liebherr mobile cranes that feature LICCON3 control and the new crane design: "The cranes are getting ever better and more modern. Our crane operators are happy with the control, the crane superstructure and also with how they handle on the road. They're really agile. We also like the new design.”

“The master of all roads”

Liebherr unveiled the LTM 1100-5.3 at Bauma 2022. It combines mobility, cost-effectiveness and performance on a new level: the 100-tonne model has a powerful, 62-metre telescopic boom and can carry up to 16.9 tonnes of ballast on public roads with an axle load of twelve tonnes. The crane offers economical mobility worldwide, as it can travel with an axle load of only nine tonnes. For this reason, Liebherr chose the slogan "The master of all roads" for the LTM 1100-5.3.

Superlative mobility and versatility were key decision criteria for Ibrahim Haido too: “Since the crane is able to carry along a huge amount of ballast with it on public roads, we're able to use it with great flexibility as a taxi crane. Without any additional ballast transport, it can handle most jobs, such as the construction of steel halls or the laying of prefabricated concrete parts.”

The innovative DynamicPerform clutch module is installed in the LTM 1100-5.3. It ensures virtually wear-free starting and maneuvering without overheating for the modular TraXon ZF gear unit, because it transfers the motor output via an oil-cooled multi-disc package. The friction heat generated when starting is dissipated into the clutch oil and transported away via an oil/water heat exchanger to the vehicle’s cooling system. Crane operators thus benefit from greater efficiency and lower maintenance costs.

The family-run Würzburger Kranverleih company, with its around 30 employees across numerous branches, operates twelve mobile cranes. The majority of them come from Liebherr, including a mobile construction crane. “When it comes to service and spare parts availability, nobody can match Liebherr. Help always comes quickly”, says Haido. The company owner also recognised the benefits of MK mobile construction cranes early on: “There are several advantages, and there’s a strong client base. MKs are an essential part of any modern mobile crane fleet.”
