Hagedorn Outlines Restructuring Plans for Crane and Heavy Lift Operations

30 Second Takeaway

The Hagedorn Group has confirmed plans to consolidate and further develop its crane and heavy lift activities following the acquisition of Hüffermann Krandienst. Operations will remain stable with no disruption to projects or customer relationships, while the Hüffermann brand will be phased out as businesses are integrated into a new organisational structure.

Hagedorn Confirms Consolidation of Crane and Heavy Lift Activities

Germany’s Hagedorn Group has announced restructuring plans for its crane and heavy lift operations, following its acquisition of crane and aerial lift sales and rental company Hüffermann Krandienst from administration in December.

In a letter sent to customers last week, the group confirmed that its heavy lift and crane logistics activities will be organisationally consolidated and further developed within the wider Hagedorn structure.

“Following the acquisition of Hüffermann by the Hagedorn Group, the heavy lift and crane logistics activities within the group will be organisationally consolidated and further developed,” the letter stated.

No Impact on Ongoing Operations

Hagedorn stressed that day-to-day operations will remain unchanged, stable, and reliable, with no impact on ongoing projects, existing customer contacts, or agreed services.

“There will be no changes to ongoing projects, existing contacts, or agreed services,” the letter confirmed.

As part of the restructuring, the former Hüffermann group companies will be gradually integrated into clearly structured units, with the Hüffermann brand set to be discontinued.

“Our goal is to effectively combine existing expertise, simplify structures, and create a consistently efficient and reliable framework for customers,” the company added.

Nationwide Network and Expanded Capacity

Commenting on the changes, Jens Hofmann, head of Hagedorn’s demolition division, highlighted the strategic benefits of the restructuring.

“As part of a nationwide network for heavy haul and crane logistics, we, together with Wasel, a leading provider of crane and lifting technology, have a comprehensive presence throughout Germany as well as expanded technical and personnel capacities,” Hofmann said.

Hagedorn also confirmed that further information regarding the allocation of companies within the new structure, along with any formal changes such as company names or invoicing details, will be communicated in due course.

Rapid Growth of the Hagedorn Group

Hagedorn was founded in 1997 by Thomas Hagedorn and is headquartered in Gütersloh, near Bielefeld, with additional locations in Berlin, Hanover, and Cologne.

The company remains family-owned, led by Barbara and Thomas Hagedorn, and has experienced rapid expansion over the past five years. Today, the group employs more than 2,000 people and reports annual revenues exceeding €500 million, making it one of Germany’s fastest-growing industrial services providers.
