LTM 1300-6.3 Strengthens Autokrane Werner Spallek Fleet with 90-Metre Telescopic Boom

Updated: Jan 1

30-Second Takeaway

German crane company Autokrane Werner Spallek GmbH & Co. KG has invested in a Liebherr LTM 1300-6.3 mobile crane, selecting the 300-tonne model primarily for its 90-metre telescopic boom, exceptional lifting heights, and long-standing partnership with Liebherr. The six-axle crane has already proven its capabilities during a demanding top-slewing crane dismantling project in Osnabrück, confirming its value for high-reach, space-restricted operations.

LTM 1300-6.3 Added to Spallek’s Mobile Crane Fleet

Autokrane Werner Spallek GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Ibbenbüren, North Rhine-Westphalia, has expanded its fleet with a new Liebherr LTM 1300-6.3. The 300-tonne mobile crane was handed over at Liebherr’s Ehingen plant, with Philipp Spallek, representing the second generation of the family-run business, accepting delivery.

The investment marks another milestone in the company’s 35-year partnership with Liebherr, a relationship built on reliability, performance, and dependable service support. In addition to the LTM 1300-6.3, Spallek has already placed an order for an LTM 1110-5.2, scheduled for delivery in spring, further strengthening its five-axle crane segment.

90-Metre Telescopic Boom as Decisive Purchase Criterion

A key factor behind the purchase was the 90-metre telescopic boom, one of the longest available on a six-axle mobile crane.

“The ability to transport a 90-metre telescopic boom on public roads with a 12-tonne axle load is a clear distinguishing feature in this class,” explains Philipp Spallek.

Combined with the 20-metre hydraulically adjustable double folding jib, the LTM 1300-6.3 can achieve hook heights of up to 110 metres, making it ideal for high-reach lifting applications.

Building on the company’s positive experience with the LTM 1230-5.1 and its 75-metre boom, the new six-axle crane significantly expands Spallek’s operational envelope in terms of both lifting height and load capacity.

Proven Performance During Top-Slewing Crane Dismantling

The LTM 1300-6.3 quickly demonstrated its strengths during one of its first assignments: the dismantling of a top-slewing tower crane above the rooftops of Osnabrück.

Operating in a confined urban environment, the crane benefited from VarioBase® Plus, allowing asymmetric outrigger positioning. This enabled the operation to proceed while closing only one side of the road, keeping traffic flowing on the opposite lane. With a 42-metre radius, the crane safely handled loads of up to 9.2 tonnes.

Thanks to the long telescopic boom and fast setup time, all crane components were lifted efficiently, allowing the entire dismantling operation to be completed in a single day.

Versatility Across Multiple Sectors

Autokrane Werner Spallek serves a diverse customer base spanning construction, industry, chemical plants, energy, and infrastructure. The LTM 1300-6.3 is particularly well suited for:

  • Assembly and dismantling of tower cranes

  • Installation of pylons

  • High-reach industrial lifting

A major advantage is the crane’s ability to perform many of these tasks without additional fixed or folding jibs, reducing personnel requirements, transport costs, and setup time resulting in greater overall cost efficiency.

35 Years of Trust in Liebherr Technology

With more than three decades in the crane market, Autokrane Werner Spallek has relied exclusively on Liebherr mobile cranes since the company’s founding.

“We value the long-standing partnership and the consistently excellent service,” emphasizes Spallek.

“The reliability of Liebherr machines is essential for us and represents a long-term investment in our future.”

The upcoming delivery of the LTM 1110-5.2 will complement Spallek’s existing five-axle fleet, which already includes the LTM 1250-5.1 and LTM 1150-5.3.
