Tadano Celebrates Topping-Out of New European Spare Parts Centre in Germany

30-Second Takeaway

Tadano has reached a major milestone in the construction of its new European spare parts centre in Lauf an der Pegnitz near Nuremberg, Germany. The facility will centralise Europe-wide spare parts supply, reduce delivery times, increase availability, and strengthen Tadano’s service competitiveness across the region. Full logistics conversion is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2026.

New Central Spare Parts Hub Strengthens Tadano’s European Service Network

With the construction of its new European spare parts centre, Tadano is strengthening its delivery capacity and service speed for customers across Europe, while reinforcing its long-term commitment to Germany as a strategic business location.

As part of the reorganisation of its European operations, Tadano will centralise its Europe-wide spare parts supply at its plant in Lauf an der Pegnitz, near Nuremberg.

The initiative is specifically aimed at improving customer service and increasing Tadano’s competitiveness in the European market.

Topping-Out Ceremony Marks Key Milestone

The project reached an important construction milestone with a topping-out ceremony held on February 9, 2026.

Dr. Frank Schröder, Managing Director and Executive Vice President Customer Support, said the new centre represents a major step forward:

“With today’s topping-out ceremony, we are taking a decisive step closer to our goal of making spare parts supply for our European customers even faster, more reliable, and more efficient.”

He added that the investment also demonstrates Tadano’s long-term commitment to sustainable growth in Europe:

“This project underscores our long-term commitment to Germany as a business location and to sustainable growth in Europe.”

Centralised Logistics to Reduce Delivery Times and Customer Costs

The relocation and logistics conversion will be completed in the second half of 2026, enabling the warehouse in Lauf to handle Tadano’s entire European spare parts supply.

Customers will continue placing orders through the Tadano webshop, while centralised dispatch will allow Tadano to consolidate spare parts for all crane models into a single shipment.

Schröder highlighted the customer benefits:

“The centralized processing at the new spare parts center in Lauf will allow us to consolidate spare parts for all Tadano cranes into a single shipment, reducing effort and costs for our customers.”

The new facility will also allow Tadano to stock approximately 30 percent more spare parts, increasing availability across Europe.

Same-Day Dispatch and Faster Service Support

Additional delivery improvements will come from the consolidation of inbound freight at the new logistics centre. Spare parts from predominantly German suppliers will be delivered directly to Lauf rather than routing through the Netherlands, reducing transit times.

Subject to parts availability, Tadano expects:

  • Same-day dispatch capability

  • Extended order cut-off times

  • More efficient express and overnight shipping

  • Faster technician support in service cases

  • Reduced crane downtime for customers

Overall, the centre is designed to improve responsiveness and minimise operational disruption for crane owners.

Global Benefits Through Proximity to Leipzig Airport

Tadano noted that the improvements will benefit not only European customers but also its worldwide partner network.

Dr. Schröder explained:

“Not least due to the proximity of the new central warehouse to Leipzig Airport… our global business partners, especially in North and South America, will receive air freight shipments much faster.”

Leipzig Airport is one of Europe’s most important air freight hubs, offering strong global connections for international shipments.

Partnership with Logistics Specialist Gruber

Operation of the new spare parts centre will be carried out jointly with long-standing Tadano logistics partner Gruber, a specialist handling exclusively Tadano components and supporting the company’s supply chain transformation.
