Autokrane Schares Adds Tadano AC 3.045-1 City Crane to Mark Operator Milestone

30 Second Takeaway

Autokrane Schares has strengthened its city crane fleet with the addition of a new Tadano AC 3.045-1 City all-terrain crane, marking the occasion by assigning the machine to long-serving operator Andreas Erzening on his 30th work anniversary with the company. The compact crane enhances Schares’ capabilities in confined and indoor lifting applications.

Demand for Compact, High-Performance City Cranes

Urban construction and industrial maintenance projects increasingly require cranes that combine high lifting performance with compact dimensions and flexible outrigger configurations. City cranes have become a key solution for contractors working in restricted spaces, offering manoeuvrability, reduced setup footprints and strong lifting capacity.

Milestone Handover in Lauf

The handover of the new Tadano AC 3.045-1 City took place in Lauf, where Tim Schlattmann, Managing Director of Autokrane Schares, accepted the crane from Helge Prüfer, Tadano Sales Manager.

The order was placed earlier this year at bauma by Schlattmann together with authorised signatory Eric Reichmann.

To mark the milestone, the crane was assigned to Andreas Erzening, recognising his three decades of service with the company.

Building on Experience with the City Crane Concept

Autokrane Schares already operates several Tadano AC 40 City cranes and reports strong operational experience with the city crane concept. According to the company, the AC 3.045-1 City represents a further development in terms of performance, flexibility and efficiency, making it a suitable addition to the existing fleet.

Key Features of the Tadano AC 3.045-1 City

Several technical characteristics influenced Schares’ decision to add the crane, including:

  • High lifting capacity while telescoping under load, improving efficiency on site

  • Flex Base outrigger system, allowing asymmetric outrigger extension to maximise capacity in confined spaces

  • Compact design, with an overall height of just 3.18 metres

  • Short boom base length of 7.80 metres, supporting operation in restricted environments

Additional advantages include:

  • Increased engine power

  • Rear axle steering for enhanced manoeuvrability

  • Favourable axle loads, simplifying the process of obtaining travel permits

Optimised for Confined and Indoor Operations

The combination of compact dimensions, flexible outrigger positioning and strong lifting performance makes the AC 3.045-1 City particularly well suited for indoor operations and restricted job sites. At the same time, the crane offers a cost-effective solution for urban lifting applications without compromising on capability.

About Autokrane Schares

Autokrane Schares is a Germany-based crane service provider with a long-standing reputation for precision lifting, reliability and specialist expertise in urban, industrial and confined-site crane operations. The company supports a wide range of construction, infrastructure and industrial maintenance projects, where careful planning, compact equipment and experienced operators are critical to success.

With a strong focus on city crane and all-terrain crane solutions, Schares has built its fleet around machines that offer high lifting performance combined with reduced setup space, flexible outrigger configurations and efficient mobilisation. This approach allows the company to deliver safe and effective lifting operations in environments where access, height restrictions and load sensitivities present ongoing challenges.

Autokrane Schares places significant emphasis on operator experience and long-term workforce retention, recognising that skilled personnel are central to safe crane operation. The assignment of new equipment to long-serving employees reflects the company’s commitment to continuity, professional development and operational consistency.

By continuously investing in modern crane technology, particularly compact and high-performance models such as Tadano’s City crane range, Autokrane Schares ensures its fleet remains aligned with the evolving demands of urban construction and industrial lifting. This strategy enables the company to provide cost-effective, permit-friendly solutions while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency and customer service.
