Stellar Industries Acquires Elliott Equipment to Expand Truck-Mounted Crane and Aerial Lift Portfolio

30 Second Takeaway

US-based mechanics truck and service crane manufacturer Stellar Industries has reached an agreement to acquire Elliott Equipment, a Nebraska-based manufacturer of truck-mounted aerial lifts, digger derricks, and cranes. The transaction, expected to close in the first quarter of 2026, will see Elliott Equipment continue to operate as a standalone business unit within the Stellar Group, maintaining its brand, workforce, facilities, and dealer network.

Stellar Industries acquisition strengthens lifting and access offering

Stellar Industries, headquartered in Garner, Iowa, has announced the acquisition of Elliott Equipment, expanding its presence in truck-mounted lifting equipment and work-at-height solutions for utility and vocational markets.

Under the terms of the agreement, Elliott Equipment will retain its brand identity and operate independently within the Stellar Group. All employees will be retained, with Jim Glazer continuing to lead the business following completion of the transaction.

The acquisition is expected to close in Q1 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals.

Elliott Equipment to continue as standalone business unit

Based in Omaha, Nebraska, Elliott Equipment designs and manufactures truck-mounted aerial work platforms, digger derricks, and boom trucks primarily for the utility sector.

The company’s current product portfolio includes:

  • Telescopic truck-mounted aerial lifts with working heights from 14 to 43 metres

  • Boom trucks and truck cranes with lifting capacities up to 45 tonnes

  • Maximum tip heights of up to 63 metres

Maintaining Elliott as a standalone unit allows continuity for customers, dealers, and utility clients while enabling access to broader manufacturing and distribution resources.

Stellar Industries growth through targeted acquisitions

Founded in 1990, Stellar Industries is a 100 percent employee-owned company that began by manufacturing hydraulic hooklifts before expanding into mechanics trucks with integrated telescopic cranes.

The company has grown through a combination of organic expansion and strategic acquisitions, and today employs more than 800 people across multiple production facilities.

Its portfolio serves vocational markets including:

  • Mechanics and service trucks

  • Lifting and load-handling equipment

  • Truck-mounted crane solutions

Stellar said the acquisition supports its long-term strategy of expanding lifting equipment and work-at-height solutions while creating additional opportunities for distributors, customers, and employee-owners.

Leadership comments on the transaction

Dave Zrostlik, President of Stellar Industries, said the acquisition aligns with the company’s growth approach.

“Stellar has always pursued growth opportunities that align with our culture, vision, and commitment to excellence,”

Zrostlik said.

“The addition of Elliott Equipment

Company represents an exciting step forward as we continue to build upon shared values of quality, innovation, and customer service.”

Jim Glazer, Chief Executive Officer of Elliott Equipment, welcomed the transaction.

“We are thrilled to continue the Elliott Equipment Company story with Stellar,”

Glazer said.

“This acquisition represents a strong cultural fit between two organisations that share a commitment to people, product integrity, and long-term growth.”
