Southern Taiwan–based logistics and contracting company Fu Yifa has purchased its first Grove all-terrain crane, a GMK5250XL-1, to support a growing range of lifting and transportation projects. The acquisition marks a significant fleet expansion milestone for the company and was completed through Shing Tse International, with dealer support from Champion Auto.

First Grove Crane Marks Key Fleet Milestone
Fu Yifa, a leading logistics and contracting company based in Southern Taiwan, has expanded its crane fleet with the purchase of its first Grove crane, selecting the Grove GMK5250XL-1 all-terrain crane.
The deal was led by Shing Tse International and supported by Manitowoc dealer Champion Auto, marking the company’s entry into the Grove all-terrain crane portfolio as it continues to grow its lifting capabilities.
Owner Highlights Performance and Reliability
Since taking delivery, Fu Yifa reports strong performance from the GMK5250XL-1 across early operations.
“We are proud to welcome our first Grove crane and the GMK5250XL-1 is an excellent model. It’s performed perfectly since we took delivery. Our company’s reputation is built on innovation and operational excellence, and with the reliability and performance of the GMK5250XL-1 we can continue to deliver on our promises to customers. We’re looking forward to putting the crane to work across a diverse range of projects,” said Luo, Yong-Fong, owner of Fu Yifa.
Longest Boom in Class with Compact Footprint
The Grove GMK5250XL-1 was designed to push the boundaries of five-axle mobile crane performance. The crane features a 78.5-metre main boom, the longest in its class, and incorporates TWIN-LOCK® boom pinning for structural rigidity and performance.
Despite its long boom and high lifting capacities, the GMK 5250XL-1 maintains a compact footprint and strong manoeuvrability, supporting efficient operation on space-constrained job sites.
Single-Engine Design Improves Efficiency
Power for both the carrier and superstructure is delivered by a Mercedes OM471LA diesel engine, operating through a single angular gearbox.
This single-engine design includes fuel saver technology, which can reduce fuel consumption by up to 30% compared with previous Grove five-axle crane models.
Additional features include MEGATRAK® suspension, all-wheel steering, and the optional MAXbase™ variable outrigger positioning system, further enhancing setup flexibility and site performance.
Deployment Across Southern Taiwan
Fu Yifa will deploy the GMK5250XL-1 across a range of lifting and transportation tasks throughout Southern Taiwan, supporting both logistics and contracting operations.
The company was established over two decades ago and provides a broad portfolio of lifting and transport services, with the new Grove crane strengthening its ability to deliver complex and high-reach lifts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the Grove GMK5250XL-1 significant for Fu Yifa’s fleet expansion?
The GMK5250XL-1 introduces a 250-tonne class all-terrain crane with the longest boom in its segment, enabling Fu Yifa to undertake higher-reach and higher-capacity lifts while maintaining strong manoeuvrability and transport efficiency.
How does the 78.5-metre main boom benefit real-world job sites?
The extended boom length allows operators to complete lifts without additional jib configurations, reducing setup time and improving efficiency on congested or time-sensitive projects.
What advantages does the single-engine design offer?
A single engine powering both carrier and superstructure simplifies maintenance, improves reliability, and delivers fuel savings of up to 30%, lowering operating costs over the crane’s lifecycle.
How does MAXbase™ improve crane deployment?
MAXbase™ enables asymmetrical outrigger positioning, allowing operators to optimise lifting capacity when working near obstacles or within restricted site boundaries.
What types of projects will Fu Yifa use the GMK5250XL-1 on?
The crane will be deployed across logistics, construction, and general contracting projects throughout Southern Taiwan, supporting a diverse range of lifting requirements.
