MEC Unveils New Plus Line Electric Scissor Lifts Ahead of ARA Show and ConExpo

30-Second Takeaway

California-based MEC Aerial Work Platforms will debut its new Plus Line electric slab scissor lifts at The ARA Show in Orlando and ConExpo in Las Vegas next week. The lineup includes eight new models ranging from 19ft to 45ft working heights, featuring improved duty cycles, higher platform capacities and enhanced drive systems designed to increase runtime and productivity for rental fleets and contractors.

MEC Introduces New Plus Line Electric Scissor Lifts

MEC Aerial Work Platforms is preparing to launch a new series of electric slab scissor lifts known as the Plus Line, with the official debut scheduled for The ARA Show in Orlando next week.

Selected models will also be displayed at ConExpo in Las Vegas, which takes place during the same week.

The new range has been designed to improve machine efficiency, runtime and usability for operators working in construction, maintenance and industrial environments.

The Plus Line scissor lifts target customers including:

  • Rental companies

  • Construction contractors

  • Facility maintenance teams

  • Industrial operators

The machines aim to deliver longer duty cycles and improved productivity during daily operations.

Eight New Models in the MEC Plus Line

The new Plus Line electric scissor lifts will include eight models covering working heights from 19ft to 45ft.

The models include:

  • Micro 19+ – 19ft / 800mm wide

  • Micro 19-XD+ – 19ft / 800mm wide

  • Micro 26+ – 26ft / 800mm wide

  • Micro 26-XD+ – 26ft / 800mm wide

  • 3232+ – 32ft / 830mm wide

  • 3346+ – 33ft / 1.2m wide

  • 4046+ – 40ft / 1.2m wide

  • 4555+ – 45ft / 1.4m wide

While MEC has not yet released the full specifications for each unit, the company has confirmed several performance upgrades across the lineup.

New Drive Systems Improve Duty Cycles

The Micro 19+ and Micro 19-XD+ models feature direct AC brushless front-wheel drive motors.

According to MEC, this technology improves duty cycles by approximately eight percent compared to previous models.

The remaining six machines in the Plus Line are equipped with PMSR AC+ motors, which are designed to improve efficiency by capturing energy during lifting operations.

This system reportedly:

  • Recaptures around 30 percent of lifting energy

  • Improves duty cycles by approximately 22 percent

  • Increases overall runtime during work shifts

These improvements are intended to help operators spend more time working at height and less time charging equipment.

Higher Platform Capacities Across the Range

MEC has also increased maximum platform capacities on the new Plus Line models.

The updated machines offer improved load capabilities, including higher deck extension capacities.

Key changes include:

  • Deck extension capacity increased from 113kg to 136kg

  • Xtra-Deck capacity increased from 113kg to 136kg

These upgrades allow operators to carry additional tools, materials and equipment, improving productivity on construction and maintenance projects.

Designed to Improve Productivity on the Jobsite

MEC says the new Plus Line machines were designed to improve the everyday experience for operators working on job sites.

Engineering Vice President Gary Crook explained the design philosophy behind the new machines.

“Scissor lifts earn their keep when they are stationary in the work position that’s when a tradesperson can get their job done.”
“The MEC Plus Line of electric scissor lifts is about allowing crews to get in position quickly and work longer without interruptions, with more usable capacity, more runtime, and fewer small frustrations that can slow a shift down.”

The machines are expected to appeal particularly to rental companies and

contractors seeking durable electric slab scissor lifts capable of handling demanding work schedules.

Industry Events to Showcase the New Models

The Plus Line electric scissor lifts will make their official debut at The ARA Show in Orlando, one of the largest rental equipment exhibitions in North America.

Selected models will also be displayed at ConExpo-Con/Agg in Las Vegas, a major international construction equipment trade show.
