Raimondi Launches T87 Flat-Top Tower Crane for Urban and Mid-Size Projects

30-Second Takeaway

Raimondi Cranes has introduced the T87 flat-top tower crane, a modular, lightweight successor to the MRT84 aimed at urban and mid-size construction sites. Designed for transport efficiency, fleet flexibility, and tight-access installation, the T87 has already entered service in Italy and France, with early feedback highlighting its manoeuvrability and adaptability.

New Addition to Raimondi’s T Series Range

Raimondi Cranes has launched the T87 flat-top tower crane, the latest addition to its T Series lineup and the successor to the MRT84. The crane is designed to support small to medium-sized construction projects, particularly those located in space-constrained urban environments across the European construction market.

Lightweight Design and Transport Efficiency

The T87 features a lightweight structural design intended to simplify transport and installation logistics. The heaviest single component weighs less than three tonnes, while the crane is equipped with a compact eight-metre counterjib.

Raimondi states that a full 51-metre jib configuration, including counterweights, can be transported using two articulated trucks, improving accessibility for dense urban sites or locations with restricted transport routes.

Modular Design for Rental and Contractor Flexibility

As part of Raimondi’s T Series, the T87 maintains a high degree of modularity across mechanical and structural components, supporting both rental fleets and contractors working across varied project profiles.

The crane is available in two main configurations:

  • A 5-tonne maximum capacity version with II/IV falls

  • A 3-tonne version with permanent II falls

This modular approach allows fleet owners to standardise components while adapting crane configurations to specific site requirements.

The T87-5t variant delivers a tip load of 1.38 tonnes at a 51-metre jib in UltraLift mode and achieves a maximum hoisting speed of 78.7 metres per minute using a 22 kW hoist.

Integrated ConCore Control System

The T87 is equipped with Raimondi ConCore, the manufacturer’s latest integrated control system. ConCore enables:

  • Calibration and commissioning

  • Remote access for monitoring and diagnostics

  • Support for maintenance planning and lifecycle management

The system is designed to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and uptime throughout the crane’s service life.

Early Deployments Across Italy and France

Raimondi confirmed that the first 10 T87 units have already been delivered and installed at sites in Italy and France, including projects in Lombardia, Marche, and Campania.

According to the company, early operational feedback highlights the crane’s manoeuvrability and suitability for diverse site conditions.

One notable installation, carried out by Tecnoedicasa, took place in a historic district of Ascoli Piceno, Italy. The crane was configured with a 51-metre jib and installed at 45 metres under hook in an area with restricted access and no entry for articulated trucks. Raimondi said the crane’s lighter components, modular design, and six-metre jib sections were key to completing the installation successfully in the constrained environment.
