Scholpp Expands Fleet with Tadano AC 4.080-1 as Four-Crane Order Continues

Updated: Jan 12

30 Second Takeaway

Scholpp, the Stuttgart-based crane services provider, is reinforcing its taxi-crane and all-terrain fleet with the Tadano AC 4.080-1, ordering four units of the compact yet powerful 80-tonne class crane. Featuring a 60-metre main boom, high lifting capacities at steep boom angles, and advanced safety and zero-emission options, the AC 4.080-1 is proving to be the crane of choice in its class for Scholpp.

Scholpp Takes Delivery of Second Tadano AC 4.080-1

For Scholpp, the Tadano AC 4.080-1 has clearly established itself as the preferred solution in the four-axle all-terrain crane class. That preference is reflected in the company’s decision to order four identical machines.

While the first crane was handed over earlier, Patrick Löffler, Branch Manager of Scholpp Heilbronn, recently took delivery of the second AC 4.080-1 at Tadano’s Zweibrücken plant. The official handover was carried out by Michael Zieger, Tadano Sales Manager.

Compact Design Meets Strong Performance

What impresses Patrick Löffler most about the Tadano AC 4.080-1 is its balanced combination of:

  • Compact overall dimensions

  • 60-metre main boom

  • High lifting capacities, particularly at steep boom positions

These characteristics make the crane ideally suited for urban job sites, confined work areas, and precision lifting tasks, while still offering the reach and power required for demanding applications.

Advanced Safety with Surround View Technology

A key specification for Scholpp was the Surround View camera system, which the company made a point of ordering.

This patented Tadano technology uses multiple cameras to generate a computer-assisted display that shows the maximum possible outrigger extension lengths for a given work location.

This helps operators:

  • Position the crane optimally on site

  • Improve setup efficiency and safety

The system also enhances road safety, assisting crane operators in detecting pedestrians and cyclists, particularly when turning in urban traffic.

Zero-Emission Capability with e-Pack

Scholpp also specified connections for the Tadano e-Pack, an electro-hydraulic system that enables zero-emission crane operation.

With the e-Pack, the AC 4.080-1 becomes particularly suitable for:

  • Densely built-up city locations

  • Nighttime lifts in residential areas

  • Indoor operations, such as work inside factory halls

This capability aligns with growing demand for low-noise and emission-free lifting solutions.

Wide Range of Applications

Scholpp will deploy the new AC 4.080-1 primarily in the Heilbronn region, supporting:

  • Construction projects

  • Steel fabrication work

  • Heavy machinery relocation

“But I’m sure we’ll find one or two jobs for it in other areas as well, because the AC 4.080-1 is a true all-rounder,” says Patrick Löffler.

Strengthening a Diverse Tadano Fleet

The new crane is a natural addition to Scholpp’s extensive fleet, which already includes numerous Tadano City cranes, all-terrain cranes, and truck-mounted cranes, covering lifting capacities from 40 to 700 tonnes.

The continued investment underscores Scholpp’s long-standing confidence in Tadano crane technology and its suitability for a wide range of lifting challenges.
