Hölzl Kran Invests in Tadano HK 4.050-1 for Flexible, Permit-Free Lifting

Updated: Jan 20

30 Second Takeaway

Reichersbeuern-based Hölzl Kran has taken delivery of a new Tadano HK 4.050-1 truck-mounted crane, adding a highly versatile and efficient lifting solution to its fleet. Managing Director Walter Hölzl highlights permit-free European road travel, compact H-style outriggers and intuitive operation as the key advantages of the new crane, which will support a wide range of lifting tasks across the region.

A Strategic Addition to the Fleet

Hölzl Kran, a crane service provider based in Reichersbeuern, Bavaria, has expanded its fleet with the delivery of a Tadano HK 4.050-1 truck-mounted crane.

The new machine was officially handed over in Lauf by Hans Asam, Tadano Area Sales Manager, to Walter Hölzl, Managing Director of Hölzl Kran. The investment further strengthens the company’s long-standing relationship with Tadano and enhances its ability to deliver efficient lifting solutions across a wide range of applications.

Why the HK 4.050-1?

Three Key Reasons

Walter Hölzl is clear about why the HK 4.050-1 stood out:

“For one thing, in its powerful 32-tonne configuration, the machine can be driven on public roads anywhere in Europe without a special permit. For another, it really comes into its own in tight spaces thanks to its space-saving, flexible H-style outriggers that offer five different outrigger base settings. Plus it’s really simple and intuitive to operate – for a fully trained crane operator, everyday tasks like deploying the outriggers, adding and removing counterweight, and setting the configuration are pretty much self-explanatory.”

These features make the HK 4.050-1 particularly attractive for urban and confined job sites where space, access and efficiency are critical factors.

Efficient Operation and Lower Running Costs

Ideal for Local and Distant Jobs

Hölzl Kran plans to deploy the HK 4.050-1 across a wide range of lifting tasks, including work on more distant sites.

According to Walter Hölzl:

“That includes jobs on more distant work sites – another thing for which it’s absolutely ideal, especially as it has lower fuel consumption and is less prone to carrier wear than an all-terrain crane.”

The truck-mounted design, combined with efficient drivetrain technology, helps reduce operating costs while maintaining strong lifting performance.

Strengthening an Established Tadano Fleet

Building on Proven Experience

The HK 4.050-1 joins an existing Tadano lineup within the Hölzl Kran fleet, which already includes:

  • Tadano ATF 70G-4

  • Tadano ATF 100G-4

  • Tadano ATF 220G-5

This latest addition further broadens the company’s lifting capabilities, bridging the gap between truck-mounted and all-terrain crane applications.
