Anker Takes Delivery of Tadano HK 4.050-1 Truck-Mounted Crane for Everyday Lifting Operations

Updated: Jan 12

30 Second Takeaway

Anker has expanded its crane fleet with the delivery of a Tadano HK 4.050-1 truck-mounted crane, a highly manoeuvrable and permit-free solution designed for day-to-day lifting operations. Featuring a tridem rear axle, steered trailing axle, and two driven axles, the HK 4.050-1 combines compact mobility with operational efficiency, making it a strong all-rounder for tight construction sites.

Anker Collects New Tadano HK 4.050-1 in Lauf

Hartmut Ballerstädt, Operations Manager at Anker, already has a clear view of the crane’s future role in the fleet:

“The new Tadano HK 4.050-1 clearly has what it takes to become the best-running machine in our fleet,”

he explains during the official handover in Lauf, where the crane was delivered by Thorsten Dietzel, Tadano Sales Manager.

Ingenious Chassis Design for Maximum Manoeuvrability

Ballerstädt’s confidence in the Tadano HK 4.050-1 is rooted in its advanced chassis concept.

“With its tridem rear axle, including a steered trailing axle and two driven axles, the HK 4.050-1 has an ingenious chassis concept that gives it unparalleled manoeuvrability and makes it suitable for use on even the tightest construction sites,”he explains.

This design enables the crane to operate efficiently in confined urban environments, where access and turning space are often limited.

Permit-Free Operation for Daily Use

A major operational advantage of the HK 4.050-1 is its ability to work without a special road permit, even with a counterweight of up to 4.5 tonnes installed.

This allows the crane to be deployed quickly and flexibly for day-to-day business, reducing administrative effort and improving response times.

For Anker, this makes the crane a true “bread-and-butter machine”:

  • Easy to operate

  • Ready for immediate deployment

  • Suitable for any trained crane operator

As Ballerstädt puts it, the philosophy with the HK 4.050-1 is simple: get on and drive off.

A Long-Standing Partnership with Tadano

The decision to invest in the HK 4.050-1 was influenced not only by technology, but also by a long-standing relationship with Tadano.

“We have felt that we have been in good hands with Tadano for many years. The extremely good service and the cooperative relationship with the team in Lauf are at least as important to us as the quality of the machines,”emphasises Ballerstädt.

As a result, Anker’s fleet includes numerous Tadano cranes from Lauf and Zweibrücken, including:

  • City cranes: AC 30, AC 45

  • All-terrain cranes: ATF 70, ATF 100, ATF 220

  • Truck-mounted cranes: HK 40

Flexible Applications Across Construction Projects

Anker plans to deploy the new Tadano HK 4.050-1 across a wide range of lifting tasks, including:

  • Laying ceilings

  • Building roof trusses

  • Assembling halls

These applications underline the crane’s role as a flexible all-rounder, capable of handling varied lifting requirements efficiently and safely.
