Jandt Marks 75th Anniversary with Delivery of Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 Mobile Crane

30 Second Takeaway

Jandt Kranvermietung GmbH is celebrating its 75th anniversary with the delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 mobile crane. The 60-tonne, three-axle crane replaces one of the company’s older machines and reflects Jandt’s long-standing focus on reliability, versatility and its decades-long partnership with Liebherr.

A 75-Year Company History

Founded in 1950 by Friedrich Jandt, Jandt Kranvermietung GmbH has developed from a regional excavation and transport business into a well-established crane rental company serving a wide range of construction and industrial sectors.

The company purchased its first mobile crane in 1964, marking a turning point in its operational focus. Since 1978, Jandt has expanded its fleet from six vehicles to around 40 machines, supporting projects across residential, commercial and industrial markets.

Today, Jandt operates from branches in:

  • Bielefeld

  • Bad Salzuflen

  • Detmold

  • Gütersloh

  • Holzminden

Anniversary Investment: Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1

To mark the anniversary year, Jandt has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 mobile crane from Liebherr’s manufacturing facility in Ehingen, Germany.

The crane replaces one of the company’s three existing 60-tonne machines, continuing Jandt’s strategy of reinvesting in proven crane types rather than introducing unnecessary complexity.

Jens Lübeck, one of Jandt’s two Managing Directors, explained the decision:

“We already operate three LTM 1060-3.1s in our fleet. The Liebherr 60-tonne crane is a powerful 3-axle vehicle that can be used universally, from house construction to installation of air conditioning technology to industrial applications. The compact crane is even in high demand for putting up Christmas trees, as this usually involves working in very confined spaces. The new LTM 1060-3.1 is now replacing an older machine of our three 60-tonne cranes.”

A Versatile 60-Tonne Workhorse

The LTM 1060-3.1 is widely regarded as a flexible, all-round crane for regional lifting operations. Its compact dimensions and three-axle configuration allow it to work efficiently in confined environments while still offering strong lifting performance across a broad range of applications.

For Jandt, this versatility supports:

  • Residential and commercial construction

  • Building services and HVAC installation

  • Industrial lifting operations

  • Seasonal and event-related lifts in restricted spaces

Long-Standing Partnership with Liebherr

Jandt currently operates 20 telescopic mobile cranes, with the majority supplied by Liebherr. The company’s relationship with the manufacturer dates back to the early 1980s, beginning with a truck-mounted crane from the LT 1090 series, followed by early generations of the LTM 1060 all-terrain crane.

According to Lübeck, consistency across the Liebherr product range is a major operational advantage:

“The vast majority bear the Liebherr logo. We are particularly proud of our fleet of mobile construction cranes. It consists of two Liebherr MK 88-4.1 and MK 140-5.1 cranes, which can reach distances of up to 65 metres.”

Managing Director Sven Diercks added:

“We are impressed by Liebherr's quality. We also appreciate the cooperative relationship and Liebherr's innovative strength. Liebherr mobile cranes also have the advantage of being operated in the same way, from small to large cranes. This makes the drivers' work easier and allows us to deploy our personnel flexibly.”

Looking Ahead: Fleet Expansion

Jandt continues to invest in its fleet to meet evolving customer requirements. At Bauma in

April, the company ordered two additional Liebherr cranes:

  • LTM 1055-3.3, positioned as an economical new-generation crane

  • LTM 1400-6.1, a high-capacity, six-axle mobile crane

Both machines are scheduled for delivery next year, further strengthening Jandt’s lifting capabilities.

People at the Core of Long-Term Success

Beyond equipment, Jandt attributes much of its success to workforce continuity and experience. Lübeck highlighted the importance of long-term employee retention:

“Our strong team makes the difference. We have employees who have been with us from the start of their careers until retirement. Their experience and expertise are invaluable.”

This focus on people, combined with consistent fleet strategy, has underpinned the company’s growth over seven and a half decades.
